Yes, I forgot all about that. I used to volunteer at a few charity shops when I lived in London and they would tell us to do that. I could never bring myself to throw away the ephemera I found in old books. Still can't.. definitely not handmade bookmarks!

I used to do that with the ones I made. I would put them into library books when I was returning them or into books I was swapping at the secondhand store.

6. Jane gives Rochester a black-coloured thumb-sized stone to keep with him as a protective talisman. Do you believe in talismans? Please tell us about an object that you keep with you as a talisman?
7. Between some of the chapters narrated from Jane’s point of view, we get chapters from Rochester’s point of view. What do you think of these “interludes”? Do they help or distract?
8. We are introduced to Dr. Poole. What did you think of this character particularly with regards to Jane meeting him in the poison garden? Were there any changes in your opinion after reading Agnes’ conversation with Jane about the late Mrs. Rochester?
9. We have been told several times about a curse on Thornfield. Then Jane follows Rochester to the graveyard where his family members are buried. At this point Jane says “This was a story of heartache. Everyone in Mr. Rochester’s family had died before their time, especially the females. Then his wife had done the same.” Do you think there is a connection between the curse and the early deaths?
10. We have been given information about Jane and her origin? What do you think of this twist in the tale?
Bonus: The author has used several of the same names as those of characters from Jane Eyre. Other than Jane, Rochester, we have Brocklehurst, Maria Temple, Mrs. Fairfax, Poole etc. What do you think about authors using the same names in retellings?

I read the first book for a different challenge. After reading so many mixed reviews I was worried I would not like it but was pleasantly surprised to find myself enjoying it. When I checked my library to borrow the next book in the series, I discovered they had the 500+ pages omnibus. Since it doesn't work for this challenge, I am just going to borrow the individual books and read them slowly.

I don't think there is an audiobook so that won't work.
That's okay... I was just very happy to see that the page count was over 500 pages.

The book I am asking about is Saga: Book One which has 504 pages but I have no clue where to find a word count. Thanks!

I agree, whoever did the casting for this series needs to get an award for doing such an excellent job. Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland were amongst my favourites.
Funnily enough, my least favourite actors were the ones playing Katniss and Peeta. I have loved their other projects but I was slightly disappointed with their performances here.

Got finals and master thesis to finish.
After the 14th, I'm all yours!"
Best of luck, Kamaria!

I liked Effie Trinket in the book... I always got the feeling she was just making the best of the situation she found herself in but I adored Elizabeth Banks' portrayal as she gave her that bit of heart and humour that made it easier to connect to her.
The first few times I read the books, I wasn't such a fan of Haymitch until I realised that for him to be a mentor, he had to have been responsible for the deaths of at the very least a few tributes the year he took part. In addition, being the mentor to young children who he knew were in all likelihood going to face very violent deaths had to have ruined his emotional and mental health. I am no longer surprised when he is introduced as the drunkard he is. For him to sober up and provide Katniss and Peeta with the assistance they needed despite all that shows his true inner strength.
