Thanks, Claudia and Devann for the info on the short stories and explaining the blood thing. Changing the blood was confusing for me too.

I had no idea there were so many novellas between the full length novels. I am listening to the Audible audio and they don’t have any of the in between books. I will have to research which ones I might want to read. Hopefully, on Kindle.

35559 LOL, ladies! I just came down from my Bradley Cooper high. And now it’s back! The man is too hot for words! Now, I have to see what movies I can stream with Cooper in them. I own Silver Linings Playbook already.
35559 I finished today. So much blood sucking and eating, I could have been reading a vampire novel! LOL

So now we know who Quentin’s parents are. Toby was flabbergasted, I think. LOL

And Tybalt. Once again we almost lose him! I hope he has 10,000 lives since he is royalty.

And where oh where is the Luidaeg?? Hopefully, we find out more in the next book!

Did everyone like how the Queen’s story ended? Sometimes I don’t like the law that prohibits killings. Some of these faeries do some terrible things. Anyhow, I’ll be ready for the next book!

This WAS hard to put down! The whole goblin fruit thing did worry me. I know Toby can’t die, but I didn’t know how she could get over this addiction. Seanan kept me in suspense for sure!

Definitely want to find out what the other reveals will be!
35559 Discussion Questions Day 1
Chapter 1-7

1. What do you think about the book so far? Are you finding the story interesting?

2.What do you think about Grey stealing power from girls with magic in order to supplement his own magic? Grey is thinking of telling Laurent. Do you think this is a good idea?

3. Do you think Harper will find out who killed her friend Rose and get revenge?

4. Any thoughts on what the “failure of magic” phenomenon could be?

5. What do you think about Sydney? Are you rooting for her to win the competition?

6. Have you read other books about magicians? If so, how does this book compare?
35559 Finally, FINALLY, the Queen of the Mists will get what she deserves! LOL

I read the first 10 chapters today. Toby has come a long way. She’s part of a “scooby gang” now. Not a loner anymore!

That Queen really gets my blood boiling! I’m glad we are getting to know more about her. The book revealed that she is (view spoiler) But I wonder if there is more to her (view spoiler)

Also, it was creepy when Toby waited for the night haunts. (view spoiler)

I’m enjoying this book too. Not sure what I will do when I catch up on the series. I’m used to reading a book every two weeks. Waiting a year will feel like an eternity!

I’m not sure what movie the picture is from. But I agree it is a great pic!

I met up with the ladies in my book club today. That was nice. But the rest of the weekend will be mostly work. Husband and I need to reorganize the garage and move stuff around in the house too. Fun times! But it needs to be done. You’ll definitely be having more fun than me tomorrow.

Shelter in Place by Nora Roberts. Quite enjoyed it.

I will be picking up a J.D. Robb book soon. Chronicles of The One isn’t the usual Nora Roberts. It’s a post apocalyptic story. Very interesting.

I usually volunteer for DQs. But Crazy Rich Asians has a crazy long waitlist at my library. And I already read the November young adult pick.

35559 I’m definitely ready to get this party/challenge started!

Did anyone finish their yearly reading challenge?

I don’t make an official commitment to read a certain number of books. But every year the number goes up. Like a few have mentioned, challenges really do pump up the numbers!

~Favorite books of 2018 so far?

I’ve had a good year so quite a few 5 stars to choose from. I really liked The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware Tips for Living by Renee Shafransky Crimson Lake (Crimson Lake, #1) by Candice Fox Thunderhead (Arc of a Scythe, #2) by Neal Shusterman
Grin and Beard It (Winston Brothers, #2) by Penny Reid and Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale

~Favorite hobby? ( besides reading)

Cooking, road trips, movies

~What book are you waiting impatiently to be released to read?

Like Brooke said Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty and also Nora Roberts Of Blood and Bone (Chronicles of the One #2) by Nora Roberts

~Favorite tv show?

Too many to name! But a few were mentioned like The Good Place, Game of Thrones and Firefly. I also watch This is Us, Poldark, Outlander. And I stream a lot and watch Man in the High Castle and shows on Netflix.

I was excited to read that Nos4a2 and Discovery of Witches will be turned into tv shows!

35559 Hi Brooke! I’ll be buying the soundtrack too.

Question: This is my first time playing wheelathon, what day does the new word get announced? I know the week starts on Saturday. So is it announced on Thursday or Friday? Just want to make sure I check in on the right day.

I don’t know why my links never work. Maybe because I’m on an iPad? But thanks for doing it for me, Laura!

I am a planner and a hoarder of books and audiobooks. LOL I always create a reading schedule monthly. Whether I stick to it is the question.:)

Question Laura, how was your Thanksgiving? And I always wondered if Canadian Thanksgiving is the same as U.S. with turkey and dressing and pumpkin pie? I’m getting hungry already!

Hi Alissa and Zee!

35559 Yes, the spreadsheet worked for me. I put myself down for 4 books. I chose longer books because we get more points. If I can fit another book in during the week, I will!

LOL, Sandy! I’m sure your babies appreciate it. I saw the movie A Star is Born today. Really good and I love Bradley Cooper. He can actually sing. Of course, Lady Gaga can sing.

Anyhow, enjoy your reading. I just got Dracul from the library. I’ll be reading that on Monday.

I’m sure you must be overjoyed that your son is coming home!

If I can put my 2 cents in, I would suggest claiming letters so we make sure we complete our word and get completion points. With all the people on our team, it shouldn’t take long to complete. And hopefully spell the word out again. I can read 4-5 books a week, and most are 300-500 pages.
