interesting, i've never read anything by brandon sanderson but i've heard a lot about him in the past year or so

i guess i will have to look through the list sometime lol

yeah i really liked his voice for sawney in this one and whenever he has to do like yelling or kind of sound effects he's really good too. i would like to listen to more things he narrates but not sure if i want to do more sandman slim lol

I love the narrator for this series! At first I was unsure about the audio because Cal is just such a little shit 24/7 but he's really good at the snarky dialogue. I didn't know he did the Sandman Slim books but that makes sense I guess since it is a similar tone, although I decided to stop with that series after the first book. Maybe if I had listened to it on audio I would have felt differently.

And yeah I hate that the series got cancelled on a cliffhanger of all things! It might have been for the best because I thought the last book published was not that good, but still annoying that we will never know what happens.

@Claudia it's actually got two parts and it's over here. They're really short but there's so little fic in general and I really like it. There's also another one by the same author that i really like called bacchanalia but it's got a bit of cal/niko in it because it's a sex pollen thing so i understand if that's not everyone's thing. robin - in true robin fashion - does his best to get in the middle of them though lol

haha honestly i don't know if robin was purposely trying to pick situations that wouldn't work or if he genuinely didn't think about the fact that water is cold to humans. i mean it's robin so i feel it could go either way.

and cal is the best emo lol although he would deny it if you said it to his face but we all know it's true

@Cathy about cal's chest: (view spoiler)[well it does heal over but there's still always a little crater there because they can't really like ...put the stuff back in lol. but yeah later they decide they need a tracker on cal and it needs to be somewhere enemies won't notice it so they stick it in his chest crater and it runs on like pacemaker batteries so ...you gotta change them. it's simultaneously the most gross and hilarious thing ever to me (hide spoiler)]

and yeah delilah definitely has a thing for cal. i like that pairing a lot more than the cal/george one, but that's just me.

i love how cal's reaction to the whole robin thing is basically 'how dare he make me feel my own feelings!' cal is so repressed lol. but yeah if this was like the last book then i guess they would have finished off one of their problems by now, but this time she's decided they need to keep busy til the end.

god that orgy scene. i always forget that it's legit scene in the book because there's a short cal/robin fic that i've read like 20 times that starts very similarly ;) but yeah what did poor george see lol

and yeah rob usually brings it pretty hard with the monsters, and there's usually like 2 or 3 big things they are fighting in each book. these boys cannot catch a break! and yeah so gross that he literally took a chunk out of cal's chest. i always forget that until they bring it up again but that's gotta look pretty bad. mild spoiler but later in the series they actually (view spoiler)[put a tracker in there that fills up like the whole hole and nik has to take it out every year and change the battery and put it back in and i'm just like god what is your life??? (hide spoiler)]

we definitely see more of delilah! and ishiah. and wahanket just kills me because all of robin's contacts are always such a time.

the part with cal asking robin to help him get laid is so funny. like on the one hand yeah i guess who ELSE are you going to ask but also you know you're never gonna hear the end of this now don't you?

i guess it's good that cal is so responsible in not wanting there to be any more new part auphe running around but also i feel like he's just making his life more difficult for next to no reason sometimes

i'll just wait til you guys get further and react to what you have to say but at some point i definitely want to talk about delilah ❤❤❤, as well as ishiah. and wahanket is pretty 'great' too lol

i'll admit that even though he was absolutely awful i do kind of like hob. not in a way where he actually has any redeeming qualities, but just that he's entertaining lol

ok cool! i really like this one so i'm excited to start. i think it's got a really interesting villain and also it introduces a new side character that i really love.

who is planning on reading this and are you planning on starting tomorrow? i'm trying to figure out if i should start a new audiobook or just keep listening to podcasts and wait to start this tomorrow lol

well technically the challenge is for the whole year so i think you could count it if you wanted lol

@Deanna the ending definitely felt very rushed to me, especially since they were kind of just drifting along for 90% of the book and then the end was like andthentheydothetunnelbutstuffgoeswrongbutthentheyremostlyfineyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay lol i do agree that it would have been a five star book to me if it had a more 'traditional' plot style.
