i've never really fished but that sounds huge, i'd hate to see how big the first place fish were lol. and as of this morning we are exactly on track! nicole especially has been a reading machine this week

so excited for this, it's hard to wait!

ok i will request the 2nd one ASAP and then the third one for friday, as i'm sure ASAP will end up being mon or tues with all the mods have going on right now lol

i like how he kept asking car to do things like 'car, open the top window!' and amy is just sitting over there like 'you know what, it's not worth it *hits button*'

the next round for lava doesn't start until the 23rd so really i could probably fit in two in the upcoming week if we wanted to. i think the next two are fairly short although i remember them getting longer later.

this book was definitely less of a 'complete story' than i remembered and i think i will probably lower my rating to 4 stars once i do my review, but i do still love a lot about it.

everyone thinking the car was sentient was hilarious and i love how amy was just like 'yeah he will totally bite you watch out!' quick thinking lol

and yeah i feel like ...i mean on the one hand i guess she should have thought about who loki is and how he might twist her words into 'i can take whatever i want' but also to me he was being intentionally dense in interpreting it like that. like i think she confronts him later and he's like 'BUT YOU SAID!' and i'm like ok but did you REALLY think she meant ALL her money or were you like ...intentionally taking advantage? i can't remember how exactly it plays out though. him stealing the pig and the apple tv box or whatever though definitely made me laugh.

so i'm guessing you guys want to continue then? do you want to do next wed for the next one or should i just ask for it as soon as possible?

i think i will be able to complete level VII by the end of the year [only 12 books left!] but apparently i just don't read books from 2001-2009 because i have not filled in that many books for that time period and only one from 2001-2005. you'd think that would be the easy part because there are so many fewer spaces to fill but apparently not lol. i haven't been counting graphic novels so far but i might see if i can go back and fill in with some towards the end ;)

we finished the stage 1 spell it out but i'll fill it in down in stage 3

ok, i should be done with my P book in a few hours. christine i am going to move my O book to N so you can finish your other O book and we can be done since i know sophie is having communication problems and stuff going on irl

haha yeah i think the first four or so were out when i first read it so i'm sure i went directly onto the next one. i do hate when authors do that generally though and i think a lot more self published authors do it than ones with publishing companies because they think it will make people buy the next book, although often i think it has the opposite effect

i also finished earlier. i forgot how short it was and also that it does end on a cliffhanger like you said. i guess in this case at least it's a finished series and you're not reading it as it's being written.

ok i finished my O book and have started on my P one. once you finish everland you could read your book for the other O if we haven't heard from nicole or do something else.

ok, i changed it back to how it was. i guess i'm probably making it more complicated than it is but i was just trying to work out some way to get it done faster lol. maybe i will try to find a shorter book some other team has read tonight instead of using lightning thief for P because that will definitely hold us up if i end up listening to that ...

ok that works. i moved your book down to the W in word for group 3. i should be done with wolves tonight and tunnel of bones either tonight or tomorrow morning. although ...now that we moved your book down to the spell it out then we lost it as a BOM ...idk. this round seems more complicated somehow lol

@Christine it seems like it is gonna take everyone awhile to finish anyway so you can switch it up if you want but you can just keep reading the one you're already on

i can look through some other teams' spreadsheets later tonight as well to see what they've been reading. i kind of hate to do it because it's so time consuming but i guess if i look while listening to an audio book then i'm still spending my time on reading ;)

haha i should probably just start waiting till you guys are almost done because as of now i've only got about 90 minutes left on the audio. #oops

i definitely like her unique takes on the mythology and also how she blends the modern day part of the story with flashbacks from the myths. in later books she adds in some other world mythologies as well which is really interesting.

i agree that the writing is pretty simplistic. it doesn't really bother me though so i can't remember if it gets 'better' in the future, but she is self-published and i think this might have been her first 'real' series so that probably explains why it reads like that.

i was also very on the fence about amy at first. she is kind of like georgina to me because she is so like ~pure and innocent~ which i don't generally like but she can be very resourceful when she needs to be and there's like ...a reason for it later in the series although it would be super spoilerly of me to explain. she's definitely a bit naive but she grew on me over time.

christine if we can move your book to O for 'Hanz Otto Oswald Kretschmer' as a character then i can put tunnel of bones in the S slot as i'm reading that now as well. it's not a BOM so it doesn't help with that but it can help us finish faster. i think middle names are okay right? especially if they are in the summary i would assume.
