35559 Going back to Chain of Gold, I've been listening on audio but not doing a great job of catching any food/drink items. Anyone else reading it and doing a better job than me?
35559 Okay guys. I've got to backtrack a bit on the audible version so I get some good questions to wrap up this BOTM. I'll get them posted later today.

35559 I'm okay with a song in the story...I'm sure I'll run across something...and if not I read The Hobbit earlier this itinerary so I can always pull it from my luggage.

35559 Completion Post

Harold and Maude by Colin Higgins
Date Read: 9/25
Pages: 146 pages
SIO: H (title), C (Author FN), M (Maude), G (Gustav),
35559 DQ Set 3: Chapters 10 - 15

9. What do you think of Grace's request for James to runaway and get married as mundanes? Was James right to say no? What do you think of her then turning around the next day and announcing her marriage to Charles? What do think Grace might be trying to achieve

I think Grace was overstepping a bit. If only a few people are destined to be shadowhunters, I think she was being a bit selfish asking that. I think Grace was trying to make James jealous by announcing the engagement to Charles, but that isn't going to get very far I think...

10. The demons know who James is? More they do what he requests of them. What do you think of that? Do you think it is more than just the fact his grandfather was a demon?

I think there's something in James' past that we're going to find out later in the story.

11. Ragnor only tells them the information about Gast because they are children and not yet Clave. He then explains he is scooting off to Capri? Does this seem strange to you ? or that maybe something more dangerous they should probably know?

I think that Ragnor wants to get the hell out of dodge before the demons break lose, and he's probably told them all he can.

12. "Ariadne does not care what I do. Her interests lie elsewhere" Charles & Alistair. Did this surprise you? And do you think Ariadne's interests ie in the direction of Anna?

Yes, I think Ariadne is probably interested in Anna, so that works out perfectly for Charles & Alistair.

13. Matthew appears to have a drinking problem? There also seems to be much more about him than meets the eye. Do you think he might be drinking to hide something? Is it me or he he seem also to be somewhat drawn to Cordelia?

I'm not sure what's going on with Matthew, but he did seem to be somewhat drawn to Cordelia.

35559 Maybe I'll just post completions here for the smaller ones in case we do need them later, and I have a place to record any food items or SIO characters we might need.
Sep 24, 2020 04:27PM

35559 Oops, I meant 8 or 12 items books of 301+ pages
Sep 24, 2020 04:25PM

35559 I'll just focus on posting my bigger books (301+ page books) so we get 4, 8 or 12 items. If we run short I can go back and post some smaller books.

Spillover: Animal Infections and the Next Human Pandemic by David Quammen

In this gripping account, David Quammen takes the reader along on this astonishing quest to learn how, where from, and why these diseases emerge and asks the terrifying question: What might the next big one be?

35559 Gone (Gone, #1) by Michael Grant
Gone by Michael Grant
In the blink of an eye, everyone disappears. Gone. Except for the young.

There are teens, but not one single adult. Just as suddenly, there are no phones, no internet, no television. No way to get help. And no way to figure out what's happened.

Hunger threatens. Bullies rule. A sinister creature lurks. Animals are mutating. And the teens themselves are changing, developing new talents—unimaginable, dangerous, deadly powers—that grow stronger by the day. It's a terrifying new world. Sides are being chosen, a fight is shaping up. Townies against rich kids. Bullies against the weak. Powerful against powerless. And time is running out: On your 15th birthday, you disappear just like everyone else...

Also, I have mostly been either going for FROZEN food or whichever one can give..."

I'm using SIO when there are a lot of characters and/or there are very few food/drink items mentioned in the book. FROZEN is better as we can use them from month to month.

It should only be 8
