35559 Because I end up listening to so many different genres and artists and my mood changes every other day, my playlist normally ends up becoming some sort of mish-mash of individual songs that get collected together over the course of a month. Of course by the end of the month my playlist sometimes starts to sound very bipolar.
Playlists are the new mood rings!

Happy-Jumpy April:
The Wombats - Little Miss Pipedream
The Wombats - School Uniforms
Motion City Soundtrack - Her Words Destroyed My Planet
Santigold Feat. Trouble Andrew - I'm A Lady
The Submarines - You, Me and the Bourgeoisie
Scouting For Girls - Gotta Keep Smiling
Scouting For Girl - Blue As Your Eyes
Save Ferris - I Know (Soundtrack - 10 Things I Hate About You)
Conor Oberst - NYC Gone, Gone

35559 Kellyflower I'm excited for XVI though a little worried, I haven't always been big on dystopian novels but the plot seems interesting and it's great to hear that your liking it so far. As for Fruits Basket I've also seen the anime and loved it but hadn't thought about keep track of all the characters in the manga! Here's hoping I can keep my head on straight as their being introduced!

Sashana Thanks! This year with all of my reading I'm trying to choose some of the more discussed/notable books especially in YA. If you have any personal recommendations send them on over! :)

35559 I just love the library, but last time I went in telling myself not to get anything and ended up snapping out of my daze on the walk home when I realised how heavy my bag was. I actually had to return a few things without even looking at them because the pile was so high. I have so little will power.
Browsing Pick Ups (that I actually intend to read):
The Disappearing Spoon And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the Periodic Table of the Elements by Sam Kean The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (Flavia de Luce, #1) by Alan Bradley Stealing Heaven by Elizabeth Scott Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
Requests:
XVI by Julia Karr Cloaked in Red by Vivian Vande Velde 1st to Die (Women's Murder Club Series #1) by James Patterson The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1) by Stieg Larsson The Help by Kathryn Stockett Steel by Carrie Vaughn Vixen (Flappers, #1) by Jillian Larkin Fruits Basket, Volume 1 by Natsuki Takaya (高屋 奈月)

35559 Wow, looking through topics like this one really make me realize how much of a cover whore I am. Tsk. Tsk.
A few books I love to recommend:
The Spellman Files (The Spellmans, #1) by Lisa Lutz Stardust by Neil Gaiman The Year of Secret Assignments (Ashbury/Brookfield, #2) by Jaclyn Moriarty Get Well Soon by Julie Halpern A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb Sunshine by Robin McKinley Here Lies Arthur by Philip Reeve Airhead (Airhead, #1) by Meg Cabot The Blue Girl (Newford, #15) by Charles de Lint
35559 I love graphic novels but I'm not totally into the translation of novels into graphic novels even though it's getting more people interested it's also acting as a bit of a let down for those people who first read a great spanning novel and are now having to deal with the conflicting images of the artist and what they imagined.
It's like when books get translated into movies, sometimes it's hard simply because it isn't the book that they originally read.

There is still this major divide of people who just aren't willing to pick up a graphic novel or manga which is a shame. With graphic novels despite being a genre of its own there are so many sub-genres that you have to find what you like just like you would with novels, sometimes this puts people off because of just how huge the selection is or because they read one thing, disliked it, and make that their final verdict.

I only recently (within the last few years) became really invested with comics/graphic novels/manga and haven't really read enough to make any real recommendations but I will say that it's all about what you like and researching the best things to read within those parameters.

35559 Library online catalogs are amazing things! I'm incredibly lucky to live in walking distance of two libraries from different systems, meaning I have two separate catalogs that I can go through, yay! Because of this finding the material I want is never an issue however this being said, one of said libraries is completely down hill from where I live and this hill is deceivingly easier to walk down then it is to walk back up so I only get to go to that location once every month or so when I know I can survive the trek.

35559 Over the past few years I've done yearly book lists challenging myself to read books from recommendation lists so I don't just pick up off the shelf. From there however with groups here on Good Reads I've been trying (and sometimes failing) to participate in more discussions. Reading challenges take me out of just reading book after book and gives me something to well, challenge myself with and keep from getting bored.
