I don't think any reviews are needed. You just read and post read date. I'm not to great with reviews either am working to get better.

Okay so I finished reading this book yesterday and have decided it may be too complex for me to understand. It is too abstract which was not to my liking. I really like Mr. Kings books as they pull me in but this one was a struggle to finish reading.

Day 2 Questions: June 23rd - chapter 2-38. I am really enjoying the strong sense of place that King invokes through the senses. Can you share a book that you've really enjoyed that had a strong sense of place?
---That is a hard question. The only one that came to mind was The Diary of Anne Frank -- I remember reading it and having a feeling of being there and looking out the attic window and standing there as the workers were in the factory below.
9. At The Way Station, the gunslinger is told to "Go slow past the Drawers gunslinger. While you travel with the boy, the man in black travels with your soul in his pocket" - what do you think this means?
---I feel that he and the Man and Black are connected somehow and that they are actually travelling together.
10. What do you think is Jake's role in the story?
---Jake may serve as a narrator for us to help clarify what the gunslinger is thinking and doing. Through Jake the gunslinger is able to tell us stories of his travels.
11. We begin to learn more of the gunslingers past and what he was like as a boy - do you still see those parts of him as a man?
---I don't think we have enough info. at this point to make any comparisons.
12. We've seen so much darkness in the story so far, it was striking to hear about light when the gunslinger spoke of New Canaan. The gunslinger recalls his mom saying, "the only real beauty is order and love and light" - do you think there is hope in this world for love and light?
---I think of biblical verses as I read that and know that love and light exist together with hate and hopelessness.
Good afternoon guys. I hope to go to Puerto Rico for my vacation at the end of July --- that seems so far away.Anyway --- I have finished off with one of my group challenges (am currently in 2 person team challenge). I have decided not to sign up for anymore team challenges so that I can focus on this one and finish reading books that I want to not to fulfill any challenges. There are some good team challenges coming up for summer but I don't want to overwhelm myself as I think that may contribute to less reading for me.
Have a good week guys. Finally saw the Specialist and should be getting results back from Thyroid sonogram. He was not too concerned that there was any problems so hopefully all is good. Thanks for all your good wishes.
