Wow. What a journey. The beginning was pretty slow, but when you get hang of the book, I just flew through the book.

(view spoiler)[Jasper needles Ged, so they do a "duel". In which, Ged casts a powerful spell and releases a shadow. After that, his journey and story really start. He learns, travels the world. And when he meets again with his friend Vetch, they go shadow hunting.
*Drum rolls* Shadow was all this time part of Ged himself. And he just had to accept that and become whole. (hide spoiler)]

Overall, I really liked the story, writing style. I will continue with series.

Chapter 1 - 4.

It's my first Ursula book too. I love the writing style - old style, what I really like, it's little bit slow reading but really enjoyable.

Story: (view spoiler)[It's very interesting way of using magic - you have to know their name to be able to use its power. Also, I liked how in first chapters everything was explained! (hide spoiler)]

Overall I liked the book, but I have to say it's overhyped. Well written retelling!

I loved the ending aka action between (view spoiler)[Lira, Elain, and Sea Queen.

The love interest was expected and I liked it, bc it wasn't overdone nor too much.
I am glad Lira did what she should and wanted and didn't listen to her mum until the end. She now has her own voice over her life (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 15 - 28


I like the story more and more with every chapter I read. I would agree with Sailor statement that (view spoiler)[the characters much more vicious. I think it makes the book more enjoyable, different. And the romance is not in the first place *YEY* (hide spoiler)]

I love how the author describes every kingdom and what are the best characteristics for them.

(view spoiler)[Elain's compass of truth or lie is a really cool device to have, especially in their world and "job".
Also, I really appreciate that Prince Elain is more pirate than a prince. That gives to story so much more and diverse. (hide spoiler)]

I think they are disgusting, but they give the story something new, different. I like their description (view spoiler)[nothing human is in them as in sirens.
And it's really interesting how they "find" their mates. (hide spoiler)]

Geri, I just got the book from the library, so I definitely will be reading. I really hope to start tomorrow, but probably I will start 1 day later.

Chapter 1 - 14

So far I like the book, but I am not so keen on it. I like writing style, but some descriptions or storytelling is in some places too slow/long.

Other thought:
(view spoiler)[I really like how sirens are presented in the book - collectors of the hearts, especially Lira - only hearts of princes.
Prince Elian is not a spoiled prince, but he is badass siren killer, thief, Cap on the ship. His humor is likable.
Sea Queen - It was really interesting to find out the myth of how to kill her etc. She is Queen of the sea and also the witch - who turns Lira into a human, bc she didn't like how she acted. LOL

Overall I hope that in further chapters book will get more interesting, action-packed.

Only some task in classes and we mastered all of them.

I will read and finish my Astrology book this week, as Stephen King books are long and take time to read them, but useful bc of the page length :)

Does anyone have any idea what books could we read and pair for water-charm?

I just watched the animation and I really liked it. I like that it's not so similar to the book, that makes the movie more likable to me. Calcifer was so cool and my favorite character too :)

I didn't see the similarity with Oz, maybe bc I have never read it and I have seen the movie when I was little kid, so I don't remember anything (except characters)
