Hi Paula! Good to have you :)The most important information is in the first few posts, so go read those after you've said hello!
The absolute most essential thing to remember though is: have fun! :)
We'll be able to use any books you started since the start of the challenge, and finished in this round, so do pop them on your Wheel shelf and let us know :)
BOM UPDATE!For .... reasons ... there will actually be three BOMs in November!
November Adult
book: The Spellshop
start date: 2 Nov
November Theme (Old School)
book: The Mysterious Affair at Styles
start date: 16 Nov
November Bonus Theme (Old School)
book: The Secret History
start date: 20 Nov
Do go volunteer for DQs if you are so inclined (The Spellshop has already been allocated, and I was lucky enough to get a day!), or just put a note in your diary to pick up the book and read & chat along!
and looking forward:
December Adult
vote: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/invite... (closes 7 Nov)
not part of the challenge, but voting for December Theme (Tradition) is here: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/invite...

yeah. Hoops, choose, household..... that one will probably be a specific pick rather than a welcome random!ditto the repeated set of letters in a word
but we do have the rest of the challenge, and if it looks like the lack is holding up completion of a set one of us caps'll shout!
An update!I've started adding books to the official page for our spellout.
Got a few in for the Gardening mini, as well as some food items. Would love a brown and a green cover! and a #2 and #3 :)
Full information on what tasks have been claimed / filled are on the sheet. We can shuffle, of course, if you have a bonus that fits a task already placed - if that's the case shout out here! :)
The Witches book I read earlier has SQUASHES in it! hurrah!Sadly, even though the Lamb Will Slaughter the Lion containing coffee table, I can't make it fit one of the admin tasks :(
and whilst Afterlives does have okra in it, it also has piano and could be used for a garden task (prune / colour cover)
I'm reading
which has a demonic looking stag on the cover which scares me, but it does have lion in the text too. (though I guess Niccolo will have a heraldic beast mentioned too?)We good with putting Lamb into "scary thing on cover" ?
Finished the wastelands book, and spun a literary:Pennywise the Clown
1 350-400
2 Something you are afraid of on cover (your interpretation)
3 Compound word in title
4 Author initials PC or CP (First and last only)
5 Tagged "circus" (5 or more times)
We've just over a day to go before the end of Round 1. Can everyone check what books are on the sheet and move ones that you won't finish to next round. It's also super helpful if you could let us know if you'll be finished a book close to the deadline, so we can be ready to leap on it (we need to finalise the official sheet within an hour of the round ending)
Thanks!
oh, Red Rising isn't that bad! it does get more annoying as the series progresses, and I'd definitely not bother after #3, but the first wasn't awful!
