35559 My average is 1.5 books per week which hopefully I'll be able to stick to. Might not manage it the last week in October as I'll be on holiday for part of it and dunno how much reading time I will have. But will update on how my reading is going.

35559 I'm hoping to finish my first book tomorrow. I've been making good progress and am at 70% now.

Thanks... will probably add it to my list for this challenge. I've a good yellow cover that's been on my shelf for a year.

35559 Any thoughts on what colour this cover is?

You are so right about Marked (House of Night series). The first few are okay but those books get worse and worse. And worse."

The first few books were ok but the further into the series I got, the more I struggled, and the less I liked the characters. Zoey was beyond annoying! I've actually just realised there are 12 books in the series, I've only got as far as 10... I don't think I'll spend money buying the last 2.

35559 Just been skimming through some possible books that I might read at some point during the challenge.

Thoughts on colour for these 2?

Watch Your Back (Romantic Suspense, #15; Baltimore, #4) by Karen Rose - not sure there's enough red to count as 50%?

Let Me Lie by Clare Mackintosh - green cover?

35559 9pm on Sunday (for the UK)... feels ages away. What am I going to do between now & then?! I've decided to just wait and start the Jane Seymour book for the challenge, but I don't think I've any books short enough to read between now & then. It's very unusual for me to not have any book on the go. LOL. Hurry up Sunday!

35559 Wishing your husband & kid speedy recoveries Kelly.

It hasn't been a great week here... sometimes dealing with people voluntarily isn't always fun. On a more positive note, I finally got to meet my friend's baby yesterday. He was born over the summer but due to being awake, having a sore throat, then a cold, and not much free time, yesterday was the first chance we got to catch up & meet her little boy.

I'm itching to get started on my first book for the challenge. I feel in the mood for it. And I just bought a new book today which I'm going to have to include in the challenge as I've been waiting on it being released - Cilka's Journey by Heather Morris.

For me The Girl On The Train was a disappointment, I'd heard so many good reviews and I expected it to be a book I couldn't put down. Turns out I had no trouble putting it down. I didn't find it so bad I coudn't finish it, but it fell really short of what I was expecting.

Oh yes, I totally agree with this one! It's one of the few books in recent years I actually couldn't manage to finish. I didn't even get half way through.

35559 Some that I've read this year....

Frog Music by Emma Donoghue
Frog Music - it sounded so interesting from the blurb but I didn't like the characters and never got pulled into the book. It was almost a chore to read. Really disappointing

You (You, #1) by Caroline Kepnes You Another one that sounded very promising, but it just did not live up to my expectations. I never felt inspired to pick it up and keep reading and I didn't feel a real desire to know how things worked out.

Animal Farm - I know it's a classic, and I do like classics. But I found this one really tedious to read. Thank goodness my copy was only 100 pages

Whatcha reading?"

Jane Seymour - The Haunted Queen by Alison Weir. I read the previous books in this serious on Katharine Of Aragon & Anne Boleyn last autumn and this has been waiting to read since then. It works perfectly for a red cover

35559 Hmmm.... 5 words people use to describe me....

1: stubborn (bet my boyfriend would like to change that!)
2: control freak
3: conscientious (one that always appeared on my school reports)
4: bookworm (guess I'm in the right place here!)
5: objective

35559 I've finally decided which book to start with for this challenge. I didn't want to choose too soon as my choice of book usually depends what I'm in the mood for.

35559 I also struggle to sit down and just switch off and stop thinking about things. My mind never seems to stop. I've always struggled to relax and unwind. My boyfriend used that Headspace app at one point but I never ended up giving it a go.

I felt the exact same. I've no idea how I only realised when it was almost over. I love these kind of challenges & try to take part as often as I can.

35559 Nice to lots of other veterans here. I'm sure the newbies to Tower Teams will soon be hooked too. I've also done other challenges like wheelathon. Gutted I missed that earlier this year. By the time I realised it was happening, it was almost over.

Is it just me or does 6th October still feel likes AGES away?!

35559 I'm Vikki from Northern Ireland. I've taken part in a lot of the previous tower team challenges and loved them.

I tend to read a lot of crime/thriller and chick lit, but I also like historical, fantasy, paranormal & classics.

Looking forward to getting started reading for this!!
