Ooh, cheese and culture, it sounds fab.

Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence
Date Read: 16th May
Rating: 3 stars
Now this was odd for sure...."
I love that trilogy. But Jorg is not an easy character to get behind because he does some nasty mean things. I do think it gets better as the story carries on though. If you haven't read Lawrence's Red Queen's War, I recommend that one. It's much easier than Jorg's story. There's humor, love and honor, which is all lacking in Jorg's story. And the building of a true friendship, it made me a little teary.

Excellent, Cynthia. That's exactly what I did . I put the totaled color percentage on there.

I've added a book to the spreadsheet but i have not added any tasks yet. I'll do that tomorrow because I'm falling asleep now.

Well, they didn't say but if I had to label him, autism would be the closest. He didn't talk, unless it was absolutely essential. He didn’t like to be touched except by his trusty hound. And he liked a certain order and structure and routine.
Also, I amended 185 on task sheet. It said Ava was neurodiverse but it was actually her brother, Henry, who was.

Awesome, thank you so much.😊

an object or design resembling a cross but having a loop instead of the top arm, used in ancient Egypt as a symbol of life.
I'd go for that working :)"
Awesome, I'll mark it for bingo. The book setup is kind of weird. The audioversions are on their own separate from any written ones. I have used the page count from the separate the first listed book in the written selections. I just wanted to point this out in case anyone says it’s audio only format.

Isn't the ankh the symbol for life? I'm about to finish Disappearing Moon Cafe and there are at least two scenes/passages where MCs have babies, so wouldn't the creation and bringing forth of life work? It's the very definition of the symbol.

it was weird, but I enjoyed. that said, it is apparently #1 in a series. I have no intention to read #2 or 3 - it stands perfectly fine on it's own."
I really enjoyed his On Stranger Tides. Have you read that one?
Megan wrote: "Me too Sarah. I can't listen on the default setting its too slow. I've got a few books on Audible. Slowly got all the HP books because they're so expensive otherwise.I'm mainly a kindle reader no..."
For real, why?! My library does that too. Or they get rid of books in a series. Like I know they've got to reduce their physical quantities but why keep random books from a series and delist all the others. It's just weird.
I like 1.25 speed too. I can't imagine 2x. I don't think I'd take it all in. I'm currently listening to Disappearing Moon Cafe and it's hard enough for me to follow along at 1.25, I think I'd be lost at 2. Though I think I'll try it out on a romance, just to see what it's like. They tend to be so formulaic that it's nearly impossible to get lost.
I really enjoyed Equal Rites. I've got no idea why I didn't carry on with the series though as my library has every Terry Pratchet book published.

⚚♆ Cynthia ♆⚚ wrote: "Hi Keli! Is Islands of Decolonial Love: Stories & Songs a poetry book? It shows MPG Poetry but unfortunately, they are not allowed in the challenge. Let us know to see if we have to..."It's short stories. Or I guess they could be considered poems in the way the The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Other Poems is a poem. But they are short stories more than poems. I think there are 26 which cover 3.5 hours of audio. There are a few short ones. But I will also point out that the cover of the book says "stories and songs," and the first line of the book's synopsis saya
"In her debut collection of short stories, Islands of Decolonial Love, renowned writer and activist Leanne Simpson vividly explores the lives of contemporary Indigenous Peoples and communities, especially those of her own Nishnaabeg nation."
So i don't know why some people have chosen to mark it poetry but it's not. 🤷🏾♀️
