Much like the previous book, good story but terrible pacing. Right now I'm not 100% sure I will continue with the series. Maybe if I come across them sec..."
Well done. I have read past #1, for exactly the reasons you stated.

I have 13 to go, so I probably won't hit my target but this is one of my closest attempts. Plus, I've removed enough that I'm over my target.

Absolutely! Go Cat, go!

Think I have different eyes/screen to everyone else, to me the author name seems brown. Title looks black though."
It does look brown on my kindle. I put it in tineye and it calls the author's name brown too. I'll mark it as brown on the spreadsheet but it you captains decide it's too close to red, then change it.

Thank you, Sassafras. I'm sorry for your loss. ❤

Finished Invitation to a Bonfire last night. Will have Uprooted done tomorrow evening.

Hopefully have two more finished by tomorrow."
Not my type of book but it has a decent rating what made ot a chore Kel..."
So many things. The writing was dull and full of cliché phrases. The characters were one dimensional. And there was this really weird and jarring scene towards the beginning where she is about to assassinate someone but has this intense sexual fantasy about the guy next to her target. It was so oddly placed. I'm not sure what it said about the MC. Oyher than she's a psychopath.

Good news, yesterday my dad felt a little better. So fingers crossed that it just continues like that.
And my sister is just the nicest. I have no complaints about her. We..."
Fantastic news, Claire. Fingers crossed and best wishes that this continues. ❤🧡💛

I quite enjoyed that book. I liked it more than The Wonder. But I think she does a fantastic job of showing how religion and poverty combined affects people.
I thought it was a searing indictment on stranglehold the church had over the poor and voiceless. The abuse inflicted on and advantage taken of Ireland's most needy was shameful. Donoghue didn't pull any punches to soften or sanitise the depravity the church inflicted. I appreciate that kind of brutal honesty. And she did the same in The Wonder.

I have a amazon kindle fire 7 (9th gen) and i don't know about temp control but i can make it yellow or blue. I never had it without blue until now. The yellow is weird but very easy on the eyes. Even with brightness controlled the blue is harsh compared to the yellow. So my two cents are if you read your kindle alot then look after your eyes but don't pay too much for it.
