I've got a few I books in my pile.

I've read exactly one book from all nominated. I thought I'd read a fair amount of 2021 books, but guess none worthy enough to be nominated. My one book was Klara and the Sun, a meh book.

I've crossed Down Under: Travels in a Sunburned Country and Girl, Woman, Other off my list. Down Under was boring. Didn't sell me Australia at all. And Girl Woman Other was underwhelming. It packs a verbal punch but instead of a story I got lessons in wokeness.
They were a two and three star read, respectively.

On to the next.

The Fifth Season trilogy is well lauded too though. So it's good to know that that was rhe same for you.
I'll definitely go into killing moon with an open and positive frame but if doesn’t grab me, then I won't hesitate to dnf. That's one of the benefits of honest reviews and opinions. I don't need to wonder if there's a brilliant payoff at the end.

I'm still trying to complete my first ever reading challenge. It was here at NRBC, the flowers challenge. Still looking for Kangaroo Paw.

Another two read and both four star reads.
a touching family story reminiscent of Running with Scissors but set in rural England.
And
- I liked the movie, but loved the book. We got to know the characters so much better. And I was surprised to learn that the movie makers decided to remove the black folks from the story. Not only was it a black man who introduced Captain Kidd and Johanna, but he regularly rescued Native captives. So a hero and the catalyst for the story, and his son (also Black) is actually the only one who converses with Johanna in Kiowa, are completely deleted in the movie.

I also removed a few from my tbr. If they're not available through my library and I'm not willing to spend money on them, they've got to go.

Just finished Storm Cursed. The last three books in this series have just been fantastic. So good. Will update SS now.

A little bit of both. We had a Halloween party but nearly everyone cancelled due to illness. Ah,covid, will it never end? But we still had fivr show up, so it was a wonderrful intimate night. We did build a giant robot, which the kids loved, but took up a good bit of reading time.
The downer was my poor dog. He managed to rip out one of his claws at midnight on sunday. He bled like a stuck pig. It was our third visit to the vet in two weeks. He also has conjunctivitis. A bit or stress and alot of money. 🙄🙄🙄

I've got two hours left of Still Life, which has a U in it if needed. Or L or R or E. I'll have storm cursed finished by Saturday too. I think that will be it for me. Safly, a book short but real life took over for a bit.

I'm not sure what's happened but my News of the World seems to be merged with someone else. So I've cleared my name and book. Whoever read a book by a Peter with 40 dystopian tags, you will need to input your book and name.

Another three ticked off. 31/50 now. If I can get to 75% I'll be happy. Especially as I have deleted enough to probably make up the difference.

I see someone kindly put Silence Fallen and Ripley on round two (thank you!) Though I've finished Silence, keep the line cos I'll just read the next in the series. If that makes sense.

Finished Silence Fallen. I love that book. Mercy is so kick butt in it. This will be it for me for this round.

I will likely only get Silence Fallen finished by tomorrow. Though it might be closer to the deadline. I only have so many hours after work. 😭😭😭 I'll save Ripley for round two.

Actually my round average is 5.5. I've read three. Would you like me to read five or 6 this round?
