Awesome. That will definitely be one of my books then for the next round. I'm aiming to finish it by Halloween.

35559 Question about using an anthology as I didn't see anything in the rules.

I'm going to be reading the below book this week in between my regular books. This book has no editor (either on GR or any reference to one in the book itself that I can see), it's just one story per author in the book.

Upon a Midnight Dreary A Halloween Anthology by Kathryn Le Veque

Can I use any of the authors for the spell it out (which would work for our word as there are a number of M and A authors)? Or does only the first one count (in which case this book won't work for our next word which is a shame since it's worth 100 points)?

35559 I don't have anything left on the sheet that's unread, but I will finish another couple books before the deadline just in case anyone doesn't finish theirs.

35559 I should hit my 10 books and I may be able to do 1 or 2 more if it's needed.

35559 Yay, first word!

Half the fun of this game is tetris-ing the books around to complete words. I'm amazed every year when the captains manage to get everything in there somehow.

35559 Ended up having errands to do earlier so I'm starting my first book now.

35559 Hello team! Looking forward to this starting as wheelathon is my favorite of all the challenges I've done.

35559 I'm in. Will update at the end of September.

35559 The penalty for going over makes it interesting to try and get my number right. But I liked it in TT as it helped keep things balanced between the teams.

For the last 5 months I've read a book a day but some of those days it's a graphic novel or short story (so things that don't work for Wheel) and others it's a 300-600 page book. So if anything I just won't report everything if the team is close to going over.

35559 Signed up! Wheel is my favorite challenge in this group so I'm excited it's time for it. The Nightmare Before Christmas one was the first one I played, so I'm excited to see what the ones before that were about.

35559 I just added my last book to the spreadsheet.

I had a lot of fun playing TT with y'all. I read a lot more than I usually do which was great. Plus I found some new favorite books.

I ended up having three 5 star reads over the course of the challenge (one in each month of the challenge actually). All of them were paranormal/fantasy romance which is a genre I loved years ago that I haven't read as much in recent years. Happy to see I still really enjoy the genre.

Big Bad Wolf (Third Shift #1) by Suleikha Snyder Neon Gods (Dark Olympus, #1) by Katee Robert Fury Unleashed (Forgotten Brotherhood, #1) by N.J. Walters

I would definitely recommend these three if you like PNR/FR but I will say all three of these have quite a bit of explicit content in case that's not your thing.

35559 This one I read last night may help with the Jackanory. It's literally just the novelization of the 1985 Clue movie, so if you've seen that then you know the plot.

35559 Got another paranormal one.

Halfway to the Grave - features a half human half vampire female MC named Cat who hunts and kills vampires. She connects with the male MC named Bones who is a vampire who kills vampires (a hit man basically). There's a plotline where they're hunting down a vampire Bones has been tracking for 11 years who is running a trafficking ring supplying women as feeders. Also features a few ghosts and a couple ghouls.

35559 I thought we could use books marked MPG Childrens as long as the word count was verified (25K plus words or audio over 3 hours)?

I have one I might pick up in the next week or so with MPG Childrens but if it can't be used then I'll leave it til August.

35559 Since we're going with a more paranormal theme, these two I just added to the sheet may help.

Magnolia Mystic - Features a group of immortal pirates who found and drank from the holy grail in the 17th century after looting a Spanish ship. Since then they haven't aged or been able to be injured/killed until now when they discover the grail has gone missing. Main couple in this is one of the pirates and a woman who is psychic.

Fury Unleashed - Follows a woman who is one of Hell's bounty hunters who has been ordered by Lucifer to kill a man who turns out to be a fallen angel and an assassin. Instead they fall in love.

35559 Sorry I haven't checked in as much in June, it was a hell of a month. July should hopefully be better though.

I will be reading my China book this weekend. My PT/TP author book I should get to sometime in the first part of July.

35559 I made the mistake of cataloging all of my books on GR so every time I log in the amount of unread books I have taunts me. Currently the number is at 1,111 which is a nice number at least.
