35559 Finished

The Daedalus Incident (Daedalus #1) by Michael J. Martinez

Which was not good at all. Solid " would have been a DNF" territory.

35559 I mean if the dates that books are released/published are shifted. E.g. You can't get a book from your favorite U.S. author until a couple weeks after it comes out here.

35559 Out of curiosity, since I'm in the US. Is it still hard to get a hold of books from the US at the same time they come out here? My friend in Melbourne was always so annoyed with the publishing timeline in school, but I wondered if ebooks are availible sooner.

It's something the captains can request. We've decided that for now we like having the books visible on our main thread to promote discussion.

Is a books read threads something you guys would prefer?

35559 Sorry for the overly tactical comment (I just deleted). We are discussing how to maximize task points/things to keep in mind when we are filling tasks in the spreadsheet in the captains group. I'm a dummy and posted in the wrong tab, lol.

35559 I adore Jane Austen, but I have to say my favorite is Persuasion.

Jane Austen miniseries and the You've Got Mail are what I watch when I am sad, and what I inflict on other people when they need a Wine and B**** night. I highly suggest it.

35559 Hi all, I'm Rose (co-captain). I'm currently in Nashville, TN, but I'm originally from Minnesota. I'm a grad student studying for my PhD in Neuroscience.

We seem to be a very STEM/medical career heavy team. :)

35559 Well that was a rabbit hole of goals....

CURRENT GOALS

199.Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as curious - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable
--we might want to clear this one with our bonus. It's not on very many top pages at all.

202. Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as 2001 - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable
--ditto. Who shelves things as read before Goodreads existed?

203. Read a book where the characters eat pizza
--also random, but whatever.

205. Read a book where a character becomes royalty
--if they can graduate to a new rank we have this with one of mine (Princess to Queen). Do they have be a peasant first? lol

206. Read a book where a character works in a restaurant/bar
--It's a normal goal!

Sorry, I got a bit cranky while in the rabbit hole.
