Works for (if it's not claimed )Labor 1D ◈ Read a book where someone is under someone's spell

There are a few points where the characters are under the spells of practitioners (magic). Attempted possession, truth spell, mental occlusion, compulsion, etc.

The Geek Feminist Revolution by Kameron Hurley

So I'm not sure with this one. It's a non-fiction collection of essays written by a female sci-fi/fantasy writer. The essays are always from her viewpoint to the reader. Does that work for
Labor 7D ◈ Read a book where the main character is a writer?

35559 it's possible I binge read that book in one day, and didn't get more than four hours of sleep last night.....

It's a really good series if you like long fantasy with lots of war/plotting.
