Works for (if it's not claimed )Labor 1D ◈ Read a book where someone is under someone's spell
There are a few points where the characters are under the spells of practitioners (magic). Attempted possession, truth spell, mental occlusion, compulsion, etc.

My edition has a shadow on the cover (bonus). I don't think it fits for any of the other goals

So I'm not sure with this one. It's a non-fiction collection of essays written by a female sci-fi/fantasy writer. The essays are always from her viewpoint to the reader. Does that work for
Labor 7D ◈ Read a book where the main character is a writer?
It's not as straight forward as a narrative, but it is autobiographical so I think it should count.
it's possible I binge read that book in one day, and didn't get more than four hours of sleep last night.....It's a really good series if you like long fantasy with lots of war/plotting.

Have you read that before? Because three of your five hours may be spent crying your eyes out.
Ha. I can replace the shark baitI finished
Which has the main characters secretly reading the emails of two others, or "crossing a line" with their privacy.

Packing for Mars might work. It does have several chapters dealing with death, especially in talking about things like the Challenger accident and what the autopsy revealed.
Harry also spends a lot of time running...Bethany wrote: "Kazen wrote: "Rose wrote: "Finished
