Our new goal, after knocking one with Go Set a Watchman, is Read a book first published on the 1st of a month.Luckily, I am already reading Yes Please, which was first published on the 1st.. so got that covered. :)
I have a very interesting albeit a serious love-hate relationship with Gayle Forman. The first one of her books that I read was If I Stay and I can easily say it is one of my favourite books. I still relish the story and its romance tugged at all sorts of chords.
I was so smitten by the tale, that I read Where She Went, which is its sequel immediately after.. and probably since I had extreme high expectations from the book, I was majorly underwhelmed.
So much so that it took me about a year to get back to her, until I read I Was Here earlier this week and I was even more disappointed.
So, its been a downward slide for me, but she is someone I am definitely not giving up on. The first book was so good that it has made up for the other two disappointments.. she writes very simply and has a wonderful ability to unfold emotions.
I dont even know why I checked, coz they are definitely going to change in the next 3 days, but based on the current standings we might be pairing up with Team Varro for the next round.
Fantastic !So here are our new/to-do goals:
Read a book with the main genre (listed on the first page on GR) as Crime
Read a book with the main genre (listed on the first page on GR) as New Adult
None of the books that have already read and were not claimed for any goal, fit in for these two goals.
I have to accept that coming here to the thread and seeing multiple goals being knocked off the park is becoming my favorite moment of the day. :)
Used Chaos and Sweetland for the two new goals. Then two new popped up,
one of which was Read a book written by an author who was born in Europe, which I could fill in by using Finding Audrey which is by Sophie Kinsella, who is British.
Then another one pops up,
So now we have these two new ones :
- Read a book that contains the word artichokes (AGAIN !)
- Read a book that is ranked 751-1000 in bestsellers on book depository (http://www.bookdepository.com/bestsel...)
I am sorry I havent been chatty much recently. Work is went crazy and I had to play along. LOL.But I am here and amazed at the crazy reading you all are doing. You all are the best. I keep saying how glad I am to be in this team.
We have sort of fallen back on the scoreboard (how did other teams score so much so soon ? :O) but we are doing good. At the end, enjoying the challenge matters. :)
One more week and we will be then merged with someone. Kinda excited to see how that pans out.

Where ? How ? Which one ?
I wanna read it ! I wanna read it !
Wow, the new task is crazy !Lets see if anyone has anything for this.
Read a book where a character is an undertaker
You guys are book-eaters ! :)I am so glad I am on this team *happy dance*.. and I am soooooo loving this challenge *dances like a maniac*
I had a really hectic week at work, didnt get enough time to read, and then I realized I just directly updated the spreadsheet with whatever I read, without ever posting here. Duh !

So nice to see you here.
Which team are you in ? Boy ! There are so many teams.. I had a hard time finding myself the first time.. hehe..
But, hope you are playing and moreover enjoying yourself. Need to be aware of your team.. can be a threat to us.. :P :D
Holy Guacamole !Work tied me up today so I couldnt check in the day.. and bam ! we completed 3 goals. *whistles*
WTG, team.. you are an awesome bunch ! :D
Next Goal:Read a book that is book 3 in a series.
I can take that if no one has one lined up.. since I will be getting to it after a day or two.
Hehe.I really hope it works !
Grr.. I dont even know any good authors from Central America. I checked the names and none ringed a bell (doesnt mean they are anyway less famous/good).
But would be interesting hunting that down. ;)
Wow ! This is just the beginning.. hopefully the tasks dont get too meticulous going ahead.
Oh, I hope we can use it.Honestly, I think if the edition that you are reading, Sara, is more than 160 pages.. we should be good.
.. and I have to thank Vicky for checking Scarlet for artichoke. It sure was a tricky word, lucky indeed that we had it in the book just read. Boy ! Looking for that word, would have been a task. :O
But, I must say the goals set in general for this challenge are awesome. Tough/tricky but fun ! :)
.. and all you guys are doing awesome with your books.
I am glad to be a part of this team already. :D
Wow, I just realized.. I have never read anything either set in or written by someone in Central America.Glad you have a book, Sara.
I dont even know what to look for.
