35559 Quick Question, Mods !
Would this work ?

Goal : Read a book with the phrase "weak at the knees" in a book
Book Read : Stardancer
Sentence : The instant she saw who followed, Kinara's knees went weak..'
Aug 17, 2015 09:54AM

35559 Updated both the spreadsheets. Knocked two goals out from Crixus. Updated the post at the top.

Have a question for the mods about the latest goal.
Read a book with the phrase "weak at the knees" in a book.

I found 'knees went weak' in Stardancer. Confirming it with the Mods, if it would work.

35559 I am starting the 5th in the series book.

35559 I can certainly update the top-most post after every completed/new goal. The intention of reserving a spot at the very top was for the same.

I tend to check this challenge more often than all the challenges that I am currently working on.. so I can keep it as updated as possible.

35559 Sounds good, Camilla.
Great that you have it covered.. but just in case if someone finishes a book that works for the same goal earlier (I dont know if anyone has any book pertaining to that), would you be okay in using that book instead and we can use yours for another one ?

Just want to make sure we lock in as many goals as possible.
But hey, we can also save spots if need be. :)

On another note, since Kate finished a goal, we have a new goal now.
Read a book with a road on the cover.

Anyone has anything leading to this road ? ;)

WTG, Kate !
You are killing it. That 'gut feeling' goal had me kinda thinking for a minute. :)
I found 'pulled the guts out', 'knocked in the gut'.. even 'feeling in his stomach', but had no gut feelings at all. :P

Lol. You can thank Sonia for that. She made me give her Achilles :P"

Sonia, if it was in my hand.. I would have given you 10 extra points just for that recommendation. ;)

35559 So, here is what we have to complete !
Do drop in, every one, if you have any books specifically decided for any of the specific tasks.

Team Gannicus

- Read a book that has a number in the title with a series number one higher than that number [Sonia]
- Read a book with a book on the cover [Vicky]
- Read a book with a pink cover

Team Crixus

- Read a book with a dinosaur
- Read a book with a penguin
- Read a book with the main genre (listed on the first page on GR) as Spiritual

35559 I actually did go ahead and used the book for that goal (sorry, Vicky :-() and the new goal is Read a book with the phrase "gut feeling" in a book.

I am checking through the un-used books so far to no luck.. but let me know if you guys remember reading that phrase in your respective books.

I wonder if the Mods would allow 'feeling in the stomach' for this. I found that in Emerald Atlas, I guess.

35559 Vicky is probably going to be out for the evening, so not sure if she would see this before the end of the round.

Since we cannot use any Round 1 books into Round 2 (right?) I really do want to use Winesburg, Ohio for the goal, since Vicky would be finishing with her book after the start of Round 2.. hopefully we can get a few more goals taken care of.

I hope Vicky would be okay with it.

35559 Also, if we cant use the books read in this round towards the next, would it be smart to complete our currently-reading books that dont fit any goal as of now, tomorrow so that they can be used for something ?

35559 This sucks so bad !
So, the Mods agreed and I was able to use Zer0es for our body part goal.

The new goal that popped up was Read a book with 31-40 chapters and I was able to use Unbroken for that.

So, now the new goal that came up was Read a book that is in the Amazon 2010 bestsellers (http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/...) and Unbroken is on that list.

I am like Grrrrr... :X

I did check all the other uncovered books, but I am wrong, please let me know and I can hopefully make some amends and get another goal in.

35559 Our new goal, after knocking one with Go Set a Watchman, is Read a book first published on the 1st of a month.

Luckily, I am already reading Yes Please, which was first published on the 1st.. so got that covered. :)

35559 I have a very interesting albeit a serious love-hate relationship with Gayle Forman.

The first one of her books that I read was If I Stay and I can easily say it is one of my favourite books. I still relish the story and its romance tugged at all sorts of chords.

I was so smitten by the tale, that I read Where She Went, which is its sequel immediately after.. and probably since I had extreme high expectations from the book, I was majorly underwhelmed.

So much so that it took me about a year to get back to her, until I read I Was Here earlier this week and I was even more disappointed.

So, its been a downward slide for me, but she is someone I am definitely not giving up on. The first book was so good that it has made up for the other two disappointments.. she writes very simply and has a wonderful ability to unfold emotions.

35559 I dont even know why I checked, coz they are definitely going to change in the next 3 days, but based on the current standings we might be pairing up with Team Varro for the next round.

35559 Fantastic !
So here are our new/to-do goals:

Read a book with the main genre (listed on the first page on GR) as Crime
Read a book with the main genre (listed on the first page on GR) as New Adult

None of the books that have already read and were not claimed for any goal, fit in for these two goals.
