35559 Do we get double the points if a book has two tags?

If anyone is interested, The Incarnations has both china and autumn tags! I'll be reading it soon :)

Having just finished The Art of Fielding (a book I can heartily recommend!), I am left in the mood for more sports-themed books, so have come to see if any of you have any recommendations in the genre.
Just to be clear, I'm not looking for a trashy romance that happens to have a sports backdrop (you know the kind I mean...), but the kind that has a sport at its heart. (any sport, I'm open to learning about new ones! lol)

Thanks in advance!

Hi Sammy! I only have one book to recommend but it is nonfiction. That being said, it definitely does not read like one!

I highly recommend Running with Sherman by Christopher McDougall ! Here is the blurb on Goodreads:

When Chris McDougall agreed to take in a donkey from an animal hoarder, he thought it would be no harder than the rest of the adjustments he and his family had made after moving from Philadelphia to the heart of Pennsylvania Amish country. But when he arrived, Sherman was in such bad shape he could barely move, and his hair was coming out in clumps. Chris decided to undertake a radical rehabilitation program designed not only to heal Sherman's body but to heal his mind as well. It turns out the best way to soothe a donkey is to give it a job, and so Chris decided to teach Sherman how to run. He'd heard about burro racing--a unique type of race where humans and donkeys run together in a call-back to mining days--and decided he and Sherman would enter the World Championship in Colorado.

Easier said than done. In the course of Sherman's training, Chris would have to recruit several other runners, both human and equine, and call upon the wisdom of burro racers, goat farmers, Amish running club members, and a group of irrepressible female long-haul truckers. Along the way, he shows us the life-changing power of animals, nature, and community.

I loved reading about Sherman's antics and had no idea what burro racing was before I picked this book up! :)

35559 Laura, do you want us to pick the task that is the most difficult for us to read for rather than list all tasks that work for the book? The reason I ask is it might be overwhelming for you to allocate each specific task for all of the books. Also, what might be a difficult task for one of us may be a simple one for another. I can revise my completion post to have just one assigned task!

35559 Joy-
Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. An epistolary style novel about a woman obsessed with dragon written in a Victorian vernacular - that is basically catnip for me! But I found myself a bit bored towards the end. I would still recommend giving it a try if you are at all interested though. A lot of people have really loved it so it might just be me!
