The multiple POV does take a bit of getting used to. I do think it made the story more interesting though. We see a lot more of the world as a result of the different POVs.

I thought it was rocks and lichen and some low shrub like stuff covering dirt. That's what I thought a moor was. It does look like dirt on the cover with a little vegetation and rocks.

I've now read through chapter 18.
(view spoiler)[I should have seen the shooting of Ethan coming. I was expecting one of them to be injured or threaded. But before Ethan starts talking about the Thames and how dirty it was I didn't see it coming. Poor Garrett so many germs and bad bacteria. The Thames and an injury are probably her worst nightmare.
I keep wondering if Ethan actually took the monkey print. We see a lot of him saying he isn't but then Garrett doesn't ever see it that we see. Guess I'm just curious what she thought of it. (view spoiler)[ the big plot resolution will have to do with Ethan and the Ravnel's. It seems like he might need a little forgiveness towards them. (hide spoiler)]

Hi everyone joining this BR. I'm from Tower Team Severus Snape. I'm looking forward to reading a new author.

I agree I want to read the spoilers. I'm about a third of the way into the book. Ethan is a bit dramatic. I didn't get that at all from his appearances in other books. It makes me laugh though picturing him doing the silly things he does.

I agree with you Rose. I was most interested in what happened to them after Every Heart a Doorway. I think this would have been a more interesting story if we had gotten that.

Hi Drew,
I am part of tower teams and also find it helpful to have the thread set up here.
I like the spoiler tags because it does help when people read a different speeds.
Once the tread is set up I think we can discuss this more.

Hello Suzanne, I would love to do a buddy read of Barefoot SeasonHi Drew, I got a copy of
Barefoot Season and would like to join you when you read this. Would June 22nd or later work for you? I have about 6 buddy reads before then and think I would be pretty slow if it was anytime before the 22nd. I'm also not sure if Suzanne still wants to join.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the series concludes. I'm joining from Team Severus Snape.

For anyone who wants to join the Buddy read for the next book here is the
Thread for Fate of the Tearling

I don't blame you Kathleen. I know it is all me. I'm like a child at the candy counter when it comes to books. I'll read that one and that one and that one and that one. Oh, and that one, too.

My book came in at the library, so I will join this Buddy read. I'm looking forward to a light summer read.

I'm only about 2 chapters into Hello Stranger. I'm hoping to finish it tonight or tomorrow night. Might not happen though. I also, have Artemis to finish before I start Ready Player One. It might be this weekend. I seem to only have time for audiobooks when I'm on my way to places or doing housework. It's frustrating.

I just started an audiobook. I'm not sure I have the right edition but it says 7pages. The actual book has 231 pages or there about. Is it an issue if I shelf the book with a low page number marked? I could pick one that doesn't have any pages.

I'll probably be starting a few days late since I'm behind on other BRs. I've been hearing about this book for a while. I've ha a few friends recommended it but then say it probably wouldn't be my type of book. It will be interesting to see if that is the case.

Dear Mods,
Could we get a thread for
starting on June 29th.
Thank you.

I'll make a request for a thread when I get home from work.

I just finished the first chapter and it is going to be good. I wish I could read more today, but I've got a big project to finish up. Hope it goes quickly and I can get back to this soon.

(view spoiler)[I'm hopeful we will find out exactly where they are in the next book. If I remember correctly the first book says they lost their boat with the doctors. I wonder was that on purpose? I think it was. (hide spoiler)]For those who are interested in reading the next book,
The Fate of the Tearling, would a start date of June 29th work?
