Thanks. That will be very helpful.

I'm going to need to find book summaries for the first three books in A Song of Ice and Fire series. I listened to a bit of the prologue for A Feast of Crows on lunch break and I have no idea who the characters are. I forgot just how big this world is and it has been at least 2 years since I read the last book.

I'm also reading the BOM. I'm hoping Gemina is an easy fast read. I think it will be.

I may soon regret not putting a suspend on my hold for
audiobook. I think I might be way way behind on buddy reads soon.

I took a peak and I'm looking forward to getting started.

I can't remember exactly how many chapters there were. I remember chapter 10 being about where things really picked up. And tree were a few chapters after that.

I am so close to caught up with BRs. One problem though, I have three starting this weekend and when they do I'll be behind again. I'm not sure how you are keeping up.

So I finally had a good bit of time and I've read up to chapter 10.
(view spoiler)[I like the set up but I do find the narration to be a bit slow, I feel like I'm hearing everything after it happened. I don't know if this will grow on me or if it will continue to bother me. Other than this I'm finding the story very interesting and as others mentioned a little scary. I can see this being a future reality. Not a likely one but a possible one. The video game side of it certainly feels like the direction we are headed. I'm interested to continue reading and see where the story goes. (hide spoiler)]

Is it the rating we gave the book or the overall goodreads rating?

That seems like a good match.

We must be getting close to done with the classes.
And that book does look orange to me. Mangos are often orangish.

I'm also getting a slow start and hoping to at least make it past the first chapter tonight. So far I liked the introduction, but know I'm not sure about the narrative being one that I'll get into, but again not even through first chapter.

Peppermint creams sound good.

I did see the recipe in Devil in Spring. For some reason it didn't sound as good to me. I'm curious if all the books had recipes or if it was just these last two. I'll have to check next time I'm at the library.

I added Artemis to my shelf. Not sure why I keep forgetting.

I made the lemon ice today and it was very good. I did reduce the sugar in half and it was still sweet. Also, I used an ice cream maker with a hand crank instead of making in a bread pan.

Finished the book.
(view spoiler)[While I enjoyed parts of the story I didn't love it. Jazz just didn't work for me. She never felt female to me. I was always picturing her as a guy. Also, I'm a little annoyed that we had all this talk about the condom and then nothing happens. I'm not sure why that bothers me but it does.
At the end of the book I have to admit, I was a bit surprised by the turn of events. It was a nice surprise thought. It helped me like Jazz a little more. That was my biggest issue. I didn't really like Jazz that much. (hide spoiler)]

It's doable despite work and having a life. Not always easy because sometimes life does get in the way, but doable.
The one thing you should not do though is dwell too long over what you've written and just keep going, and not edit - unless it's to go back and add a scene because you had an awesome idea and want to put it in the correct order, but no removing, no perfecting etc until you're done. "Don't dwell to long over what you've already written...I think I've heard that before many many times. I started out writing mostly poetry, dwelling over each word is important there. That transferred over into the short stories I eventually started writing. I can normally write about 10 pages before I get the urge to go back and fix that sentence that I wasn't liking. And once I'm in edit mod there is no getting me out. I think that would be the hardest part for me. I'm going to really think about participating this year. It seems like it would be fun, and I really do enjoy writing.

I just started today. I know I'm getting a bit of a late start. Also, I've only made it through the introduction. I wasn't expecting this to be a book I would connect with. However, the introduction was very engaging. I hope the rest of the book can keep that speed and narrative style.
