I've finished Truly, Madly. I'll get the competition post up in the morning.

October BOM's do not count. :("Oh well. I was hoping that I could get us a few extra points for October BOM.

My first book is
Truly, Madly, for genre purple. I'm pretty sure that we are now two minutes into the challenge.

If I am reading a book of the month for October,
An Unkindness of Magicians, do I need to finish it before Wednesday?

Mary, I have a book that I'm reading for Purple genre. It will be the first book I pick up tomorrow. I think purple genre is the only claimed task.
Out of curiosity what book with purple genre did you find?

I think just a rating, at least that is how it has been in past team challenges.
Just wanted to say I visited the library today and picked up a few books that I hope will work for week two's word. I've been trying to read books I own for the last month and this challenge is the perfect excuse to binge at the library.

I think when I glanced at the spreadsheet it had a list of the hard letters. I know U is on there but I don't think P is.
I am not sure if I factored in that I'm doing NaNoWriMo or not in my book count. I'm pretty sure I decreased the number of books I would typically read but I really can't remember. I think I should be able to read about 2-3 books a week and still be able to write enough. I hope that is what I said when I signed up. Is there a way to check?

I really don't know how you do multiple challenges at once. I am trying to finish up two individual challenges, but I'm mostly done with them. Only the hard to place books are left. Think I may skip them next year or only do one individual since they can get a bit boring.

I've been reading a few graphic novels. I've been really enjoying Monstress. It combines the Japanese art (which I love) with western writing. It is a bit dark and violent at times but I am really liking the fantasy elements.

I way underestimate for the yearly challenge. I think I'm 40 books or more over. Oops. I can share a few with you.

My audiobook hold for
Bluebird, Bluebird by Attica Locke has arrived so I will plan on starting that on Saturday and finishing it for the first weeks word.
That puts me at 3 books for the week and I think that is probably what I can read.

I also got the BOM this weekend which I think fits for U, An Unkindness of Magicians. I'm not sure I will be able to read much more than two books the first week. It will depend on if my audiobook hold comes in or not.
Truly, Madly has arrived for Purple as a genre.
I keep thinking we start this weekend and then I have to remind myself it is next weekend. I'm ready to start some new books.

Have a good time, Ora.

Welcome to the team.

Thanks, Diane.

I don't mind reading it. It looked like it could be a cute book.
As a note I should say I'm in North Carolina, the western side of state, and the state has a nice system where most libraries share books. Normally holds arrive quickly, I made sure a copy was available on the western side of state, but I admit I'm not sure how the interlibrary loans are working after the hurricane. It might be a bit slower. I think it will be fine, but since there were only physical copies I thought I should mention it.

My library system had it. I put a hold on it, so if you don't want to order it I can read it.

I am worried if I let myself plan a few books I'll get interested in them and start them before this starts. I keep finishing my audiobooks and starting a new one so I'm not doing the best job cleaning off my stack of books in currently reading.
