35559 We are really rocking this challenge.

I'm hoping that in the next few days I can get back in the swing of writing and be on track with my word count for NaNoWriMo and then I'll have more time for reading. Right now all of my reading time is during breaks at work and audiobook on the drive. I'm making slow progress through Middlemarch. It should give us lots of points though as I think it is in the 900 page range.

35559 I didn't mark in the book I just finished the places I found blood in the text. If you want me to go back and find it I can do that. It was in the last chapter, and many other places as well.

35559 I'm glad minor characters work. I thought I'd have more reading time this week than I did.

Thursday was the start of NaNoWriMo and I am way behind on word count because I sat and stared at a blank screen, and then deleted every idea I came up with. I need to write close to 3,500 words today to be on track to finish the novel (50,000 words) by the end of November. I'm only now sitting down to start, but I know I'll take a break later to finish up The Devil Wears Kilts.

35559 I'm not sure if The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang will work for our second word. There is a character Lin and she has dialogue but is not a big part of the story. Can we use minor characters or only major characters?

35559 My current book, The Devil Wears Kilts has a character named Owen. He isn't a major character but he has dialogue and he might be in future books in the Highland series.

The Lucy Valentine novels the father is named Oscar.

That's what I have currently.

35559 I've started listening to Middlemarch. It is 30 hours of audio so even with me speeding it up, I'm not sure if I will finish it in time for it to count for week two's word. So far it works for B and D.

35559 I've got three books I'm reading/listening to currently. I'm hoping to finish one or two of them before our next word. Most of my reading time is on the weekend, so I'm going to try and pick books that work for lots of letters in case I don't finish them durning the week I start them.

Isn't An Unkindness of Magicians the October BOM. I thought Octobers books didn't count.

35559 I'm planning on reading Crazy Rich Asians. My copy just arrived at the library. I haven't looked at the other books. I didn't realize there were 3 BOMs this month.

35559 Now that I think about it should work for all but B in Blood, and might work for B too. I think there is a butcher named Butch.

35559 Truly, Madly was a cute fast read. It also works for every single letter in purple. I'm waiting for the second book from the library.

35559 Brooklyn, I'm hoping maybe there is a character that will work that isn't a primary character. Has anyone on the team already it?

35559 I was hoping our word would work for Crazy Rich Asians since it is BOM, but it looks like it probably won't. I'm also not sure of the reading schedule for it so might end up being the following weeks word. I didn't see a character in the synopsis that fit BLOOD though.

35559 Ok. I thought maybe sooner since we got our first word so early.

35559 I've picked up a longer book so I probably won't finish until Friday. I've also started an audiobook I think I'll probably finish some time this week.
