35559 Hi team, I’m Annalisa and I’m from North Carolina, though I’m currently traveling I’m South America. I’m visiting Iguazu Falls today in Argentina. I saw the Brazil side two days ago. It is an amazing trip so far. I don’t arrive back in home until the start of the challenge. If I’m not talking as much that is why.

I can read up to 12 books a month, but signed up with 4 a month so I can read a few longer books or some of the books that take me longer to get through.

This will be my 5th tower teams and I’m really looking forward to playing with everyone. I’ve got a hold from the library on the first BOM but not sure I’ll get it in time.

Here is my uno shelf: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

35559 #5 finished. The Traitor Baru Cormorant (The Masquerade, #1) by Seth Dickinson This is one that has been on my list a long time. It was very good, however, it did start very slow. I realize the series isn't completed yet so I'm not sure if I'm going to keep reading or wait.

35559 I finished my first book Rescued by a Highlander (Clan Grant, #1) by Keira Montclair and it was not worth the wait at all. I really hope I find some gems in my TBR.

King of Scars (King of Scars, #1) by Leigh Bardugo

Also, I can read Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid for 1980s"

It unfortunately looks more Gold to me.

I’m over 50% through Recursion by Blake Crouch which is I’ll cover the yellow cover.

35559 DQ's Day 5: It Came from the Rez - End

17. And then there was one... Were you surprised by who the one was? Why do you think that this person was "the one" who was left? Was there significance there?
I wasn't really surprised by who was left. I was surprised by a bit of who was caught up in it and who survived.

18. Let's talk about that basketball game. I'm not talking about the technical stuff with the moves and everything because frankly that doesn't mean much to me. But, what do you think that it represented? Why was so much time spent on that at this point in the book?
I was only sort of paying attention by the time we got to the game. It was to long for me. I do think it was to give Denorah a chance to know Elk Head Woman.

19. What did you think about that ending? Did the story come full circle?
And I know that this is a little off topic, but were you suprised by who Denorah's stepdad was? I didn't remember his name being revealed before, or did I just miss it?
I think her dad was hinted at but I wasn't really thinking or guessing who the step dad was. The story does come full circle which was interesting.

20. Finally, let's talk overall impressions. What did you think about the book? Is this your first book by this author? Do you think you'll read anything else by him?
I like this more than the other book I read by the author but I still didn't like this novel. To me it just didn't feel like it added anything. It was every well written but it wasn't for me. I will not be reading any other books by this author.

35559 I’m currently listening to Recursion by Blake Crouch which would work for a yellow cover.
35559 DQs Day 4: Three Little Indians - And Then There Was One(80%)

13. What do you think about the Sweat Lodge tradition? Do you have anything similar in your culture?
I find it interesting. Nothing similar that I know of my my culture.

14. So far the elk-woman's POV parts were my favorite and I oddly enjoyed her thoughts even though I'm finding her actions deplorable. Did you like seeing her thoughts? What do you think of her revenge spree?
I don’t think I care for her anymore than the other characters.

15. Cassidy and Gabe both made horrible mistakes and their rage fueled showdown was unexpected to me. Did you expect their final moments together to be this way?
That was a bit unexpected. I did not exact Jo to be alive under the truck. This whole part was more engaging than I expected.

16. Now that all four of the 'Thanksgiving Classic' are killed, and the elk-woman doesn't seem satisfied yet, how do you expect this story to end for her?
I’m not sure how it will end for her. I’m guessing bloody for everyone since that is how we started.
35559 DQs Day 3: Sweat Lodge Massacre - Shirts and Skins (61%)

9. What do you think about what happened to Lewis and people’s reaction to the news?
It seemed about what I would expect their reaction to be. The community he comes from seems to be very in tune with what happens to anyone who was part of it.

10. The section title is “Sweat Lodge Massacre.” Do you think the two other guys (Gabe and Cass) will live through this section? Do you think other bystanders or even Gabe’s daughter will be killed?
I'm guess it will be bloody. I'm not sure how much so, but at least Gabe and Cass.

11. What do you think of this section so far as compared to the first one?
I'm not very invested in the story. It is strange because I find myself skimming more than I typically would in a story like this. I'm also not having to go back. I do find the little bits we get from the Elk woman's perspective to be interesting, but that is that it is more so than the rest of the story. It is very well written and I can see that, but it isn't for me.

12. Where do you think the dogs went at the end of this section? Do you think there is a relation do between the elk woman and dogs or just used for the imagery?
I'm guessing the dogs are connected somehow, but not sure how yet. Hopefully they are not part of the killing that is going to happen.

35559 I've got the two BOMs to finish, then I have a couple books I can read with green text on the cover, if we still need them. Also, NaNoWriMo ends on the 30th so I'll be reading a lot more starting Dec 1st.
35559 DQs Day 2: Friday - Still Tuesday 68 - 129 (42%)

5. Wow. I was not expecting this section to end that way, did you? I really thought Lewis was going to be our main protagonist for the rest of the story. Were you surprised like me or were you able to predict the bloody ending?
I wasn't really surprised that it ended the way it did. I've read another book by the author and it was kind of unpredictable as far as story telling went. As soon as the blood started I had a feeling we were headed in the direction it went.

6. Lewis was often wondering why the “elk woman” was terrorizing him and his friends in this order. What do you think? Any predictions on which friend we’ll follow next?
I still don't know that Lewis felt like it was directed at anyone besides himself. He asked the others but didn't really seem to go beyond himself. We know that Ricky had a similar experience from the opening, but I don't think Lewis knew about this.

7. Do you think the elk woman is real or just in the minds of our protagonists? If she is real: any ideas of who she might be?
I think she is real but more supernatural. No idea who she is.

8. At one point Lewis thinks that Shaney can’t be all bad because she doesn’t fold down the pages on books. What are your feelings on dog-earing books? How do you like to keep your place when you read?
I don't care for dog-earing books. I always unfold if I come across in a book I'm reading. It really bothers me.
