I'm signed up for Turf Wars and all those other challenges.....there may be a slight addiction to challenges....I just need to go buy more chocolate to snack on while I'm reading for all the challenges.

Good news for you - your book set in Cancun CAN be used for Central America because Cancun is in the Yucatán Peninsula...which is in Central America.
For the Central America s..."
Yay! That's great news. I need to read another sports book so I'll go back and pick that lonely book up and keep going with the series. :)

Lol!!! It is sitting there thinking about why I skipped it but I'll get back to it at some point. That's the good thing about kindle unlimited. I can pick it up later. I tried to tell it that you don't fit any challenge so you should sit there and think about that. I'm sure I'll pick it up soon especially if I finish this series this week. I added the other book to my TBR. You'll have to let me know how that goes.

22. At the beginning of this section Viv is kind of freaking out over what she did. She starts to call the police, then changes her mind. Then she hears a car pull up and footsteps coming toward where she is. What would you do in this situation?
I would've called the police also. I would be worried they would think I'm certifiable crazy but I would want back up for sure!
23. When Viv and Marnie are taking care of Simon Hess, another car pulls up and it's Alma. Did you anticipate her reaction to what was going on? Why or why not?
Yes, I thought it was going to happen like that. It just felt right.
24. Carly is being followed by Callum McCray (sp?) and loses him by pulling into Alma's driveway. Why does Alma cringe or flinch when she hears Callum's name?
Alma knew who he was and didn't want Carly around him. Alma knows alot!
25. One of my favorite scenes was near the end when a ghost in a suit comes in to the motel lobby to check in. Carly doesn't want to touch the ghost so she snatches a key from the case and passes it over the counter. The ghost says "Oh good 209. My old home." I got the shakes just hearing it. Did you anticipate that ghost making an appearance?
At this point, I'm expecting ghosts all over the place. It' just the nature of the book.
26. Carly figures out what Viv did and gets to meet her aunt. Were you happy with the end of the story? If not, what would you have liked to see?
I was happy that she finally found Viv. I was also glad that Viv turned herself in. It was a good story overall.

17. Some of the major and minor questions developed throughout the story have been answered in this section: why young, pretty Helen was meeting with average Robert (Helen and her husband had planned to blackmail Robert); the connection of the girls' murders and their murderer (Simon Hess targeted women who were lonely); and why the murders had stopped after Viv had vanished (Simon was stabbed by Viv so he couldn't hurt any more girls). Did you see any of this coming? What clues gave it away?
I had a feeling all the murders were connected. I thought Viv would do something to Simon the entire time. I wasn't expecting the blackmailing part of Helen. I figured something was happening but not that.
18. Both Viv in 1982 and Carly in 2017 mentioned that Tracey might have been alive had her parents kept her in the house. This echoes the warnings that Fell parents have been giving their daughters: don't go jogging or don't work nights. What do you think of such advice? What else could Tracey, her parents, and her school have done to keep her safe from a predator?
I'm not sure. I think if her parents had kept her home then she may have a lived a little longer but at the same time if Simon was hunting her then I think she would've died eventually.
19. "The Sun Down Motel" has been tagged by 336 users as "Horror." What has been the most horrific scene for you so far? Is it a supernatural one or one connected to the murders?
I think the ghosts make it Horror. Also, just the overall creepiness. No way I would be at that hotel with doors opening and shutting by themselves and lights turning off and on.
20. At the end of the last chapter set in 2017 in this section, Carly claims her aunt may have done something wrong (alluding to the stabbing of Simon). What do you think of Viv's actions? Do you think she was right or wrong, justified or unjustified in her actions?
I think Simon needed to be stopped. I honestly feel that if Viv didn't kill him then he would've killed her that night. He was catching on to her pretty fast.
21. With only 18% of the book left to go, what do you think will happen? Do you have an idea of what happened to Viv after she stabbed Simon? Do you think Marnie and Alma know what truly happened to Viv? Do you think Carly will find out what happened to Viv?
I think Viv is still alive but I'm not sure where she is hiding at. They definitely know where she went. I think Carly will finally find out the truth of Viv.

13. Thoughts on Viv telling Mrs. White that her husband cheats on her. Do you think this is what gets her into trouble?
I think this will come into light later. I think Viv is trying to connect the dots and this is one way of finding out if the husband is up to more no good.
14. We have another encounter with the angry man ( this makes at least 3) Who is he? Why is he important to the story?
I haven't figured out who he is yet but I think as we keep reading he's going to play an even bigger part of the story.
15. Which story line (Carly or Viv's ) are you enjoying more? Why?
I'm liking Carly's story-line. She's trying to figure out what has happened to Viv. I think Viv's story-line gives us the background information but ultimately Carly's is going to flush everything out.
16. The ending of this section just raises more questions for me. If Viv buys a knife, didn't she get a chance to use it?
Where is the knife? Was it mentioned in the police reports? What do you think?
Oh, I think she does something with that knife. I don't know why it's not mentioned in police reports. Something bad is going to happen.

Okay, I would probably leave and not come back. That place gives me the creeps. Also, I'm not so sure about Nick. What if he has some sort of connection with the creepiness. I would not have left with him. If I went back to work, I would want a friend there with me.
7.) Viv listens to guests' phone conversations. There is the saying 'people who eavesdrop are seldom happy with what they hear'. Or something close to that anyway. Do you think she may over hear something that results in her disappearance? Would you listen in if you were Viv?
I think something is going to happen because of this. I know she was curious and I think she probably wanted to find out something about the guests so that's why she listened but I feel it's bad juju.
8.) There really have been several deaths of young women in Fell, especially factoring in the size of the town. Do you think they are all connected? Connected to Viv's disappearance? Do you buy into the police stance of no connection between any of them?
I think there is some sort of connection. I think we are dealing with a serial killer but maybe 2 of them working together?
9.) What do you think of the complete laxness of management and staff at The Sun Down Motel? Anyone else wonder how the heck that place is still open? And more importantly, why?
I think the easy access to the interstate plays in to why it's still open. I don't know if the ghosts will let it close down?
10.) Any thoughts on the candy machine? It keeps popping up in both timelines. Maybe nothing, but in this type of story, who knows.
That candy machine has some sort of power but I really haven't figured it out yet.
11.) Marnie and Callum are interesting additions to the character line-up, thoughts? Did you think it was strange that Marnie won't talk with Carly? Callum local nice boy-helper dude or creeper
I think Marnie wants to stay hidden and alone for fear that she may be next. I haven't developed thoughts on Callum yet. I think he's generally trying to be a helper but at the same time maybe that's a show?

Thanks! I will go change that right now. I know I've been trying to save some of the easier ones but now I'm running into the fact that I've read so many books where do I put them all?!?

1. The Sundown Motel...what a perfect name for a motel! Have you ever stayed at a motel before...something like the Sundown? What was the name of the motel...Any interesting experiences come of that?
I don't think I've ever actually stayed in a real motel. I could've stayed at one when I was younger but I don't recall. I think one of my favorite inn/hotel experiences would be in the smokey mountains. I love old inns with rocking chairs and fireplaces in the winter time. They are just cozy.
2. Viv is young and working alone. I don't think I would tolerate my daughter doing anything of the sort. What were you thinking from the 1st few pages? Viv comments..."Being with people was easy, but being alone was hard. Especially along in the dark. The person who could be truly alone, in the company of no one but oneself and one's own thought--that person was stronger than anyone else. More ready. More prepared."
I'm not sure if I would want to be left alone in the dark. That just sounds like all sorts of bad news about to happen. I think the last line is a hint of things to come.
3. What do you think the significance of the door to number 103 banging open/shut is?
I'm wondering if something bad happened in that room. It's interesting because it's the 200 rooms for Carly.
4. So far Carly's mom's reaction to seeing the newspaper clipping..."Vivian is dead" has really bothered me. What's your take? Have you already solved the case? Is Vivian dead?
I think it's the author's way of preparing us for more to come. I have no idea what is about to happen. I'm not even sure if Vivian is really dead or not.
5. What did you think about the dual timeline between Viv and Carly? In what ways are Viv and Carly very similar? How are they different?
I like the dual timelines because it helps us learn more about the characters and time periods. The one thing that I notice that is different is which door is slamming. Also, both are young women working the night shift and both new to town.
