35559 I will probably have some time at night this week to work on meals but my work schedule is kind of crazy during the day. I also still have tons of books to update. It's been a wild couple of weeks. I don't mind looking for meals this week and I know when Sunday rolls around that I will have lots more time.

35559 Yes, I wish it still was. I'll probably try to figure out about the library situation and how that works for pickup if they have it. If not, I will figure out some way to find some words. I think the google lookup has it in another language and not English. Pfft.

35559 Okay, sounds good. I may find some time today to try to go back and see if some of my shorter books have some good varieties in them for spell-outs or scavenger hunts. I know one of those smaller books had avocado but now I have to remember which one it was. Also, anybody have availability to get a hard copy or e-copy of Kulti? I listened to the audiobook and my e-library doesn't have it. I'm going to see if I can figure out how to use the drive in portion of the library but I'm not sure if they have it. I can attempt to hunt the words for on google but I was going to ask first if anybody could help me out before I went on a hunt. It's a big book so alcohol, drinks, and desserts would be first priority.

35559 I know that I have books that need fixed and I'm hoping tomorrow night that I have some serious time to catch them up. I'll slowly get caught up this week. I also am trying to find a good shorter book with a U in it. That's one of my goals this week. I went ahead and added books that I know I'll read in the next week also. I will have more but I haven't put the 200-300 page books on there just yet but have them in reserve if it comes down to us needing them. This week I have longer books.

35559 I'm slowly getting my books updated. I added the ones that I'm working on planning on reading this week/weekend. I will work on getting the words updated for the ones that I've finished and I made some more meals. I've got watermelon coming up in a book this week. I'll have to see if the other words are around.

35559 I thought I would get this done today but I didn't get to it so I will work on getting my books updated and my meals tomorrow and Tuesday.

35559 I haven't gotten things updated and I also have some books to add. That sounds good to me. I have a few 200-300 page books that I'm binge reading today and tomorrow to help another challenge that would work for that. I still have bigger books going also.
Oct 21, 2020 05:21PM

35559 I've added the books that I'm reading and plan on reading this week. I didn't add any of the ones under 300 pages though. I'll just keep those as a back-up if needed.

35559 Thanks! I went back and forth between audible and the kindle edition because of work so I'll mark the kindle and then I can use all the alcohol words I found. :)

35559 So question about page numbers because every challenge is different and this time it plays a difference and hasn't before. Do we put the page numbers of the edition we read or the edition listed first? It changes my book from being under 500 pages to over 500 pages so just double checking because that adds in the extra words. I'll start to get my books updated maybe tonight or tomorrow night. It's been a long couple of days.

35559 Well.......they were winning. Now it's tied. It's going to be a long night. Yeah, the Cards did have some covid problems. The Braves have some pitching problems our ace popped his achilles at the beginning of the season and we've had to rely on some very young pitchers.

35559 I found avocado in the book that I'm reading! Maybe one of those other fancy words will show up also. I'm having to read a book and mute the tv to calm my nerves of this baseball game. Tomorrow at work is going to suck....

35559 Hehehe! Ohhh purple sweet potatoes...I think the fancy grocery stores may have those..maybe? I eat almost everything and honestly have never heard of or eaten an ube. I'm all for a house speciality. I'll keep my eyes out for it. That sounds like a good idea on tracking and could save some time. I know this time I had to go back to find the ebook version because I was reading audio and then I'm sure I missed some words. I'll have to remember this for next time.

35559 Finding the words that can give us bonus points next round could be helpful also. It looks like I'm on the hunt for books that have healthy nuts as characters that eat avocados, legumes, and what the heck is an ube?!?

35559 I was nosy....I went to see who was on the 1st place team....yep.....they read all the books...all the time. I'm on some teams with them in other things and some of them are pretty amazing competitors. To go off that, I love this team and I think we are majorly kicking butt. I also love seeing where our creativity takes us because we seem to all go in different directions which is pretty cool. I really like this challenge and have never done one like this before. It has really kept me on my toes. Now, we just need to figure out a way to derail Team 1's train or knock them off their flying brooms....

35559 I read a lot that wasn't added. I ran out of spaces and didn't know I could keep adding. Also, can we make more than 148 meals or are we set on that. I know as a team we can totally read 100 books. Jenny has posted in at least a week going on 2 weeks. I'm hoping she come backs soon but we may have to pick up for her until then. She does step away sometimes. I have 2 500 page books on the table for this week and a few 300 page books. I read my shorter ones today/tonight/morning just to get them out of the way.

35559 I think that's where those frozen meals come in at or at least that's what I'm thinking. So we have some meals in our freezer to feed the extra customers next time? I honestly have no clue that's just my best idea.
Oct 17, 2020 05:14PM

35559 Sounds good to me. I tried to make more meals last night and that's when I realized we were capped at 148 when I went to ask Tammie to add me some more lines. I think we did a very good job diversifying this time.
Oct 17, 2020 05:10PM

35559 A couple take-aways..it's going to totally be strategy because we could only make 148 meals and we have 160 customers. So with that, should we keep 12-15 meals for next time knowing that the numbers may be more than the meals we've created. I totally agree on the adults first and then the rest. Maybe give the adults the ones with the cool names so we can get more tips. This is interesting and I'm not spreadsheet savy so I'm just sitting over here and can be a sounding board if I need to.
