@Lousie - I didn't like the book either. Only 2⭐s for me.

@Meghan, it can be characters, authors or narrators too. Doesn’t just have to be titles. Take a look at the "Note" on the SS.

@Alyana - if you can fill "U" that would help. We seem to be on the same Harry Potter path. I have one left to read as well. The end of the 6th was sad.

DQs Day 3: Sweat Lodge Massacre - Shirts and Skins (61%)

9. What do you think about what happened to Lewis and people’s reaction to the news?

Lewis obviously went crazy. The reaction about the police shooting was interesting.

10. The section title is “Sweat Lodge Massacre.” Do you think the two other guys (Gabe and Cass) will live through this section? Do you think other bystanders or even Gabe’s daughter will be killed?

I don't think they will survive this section. I think Nathan will also be a victim. Not sure about Gabe's daughter - I don't see how she would be involved.

11. What do you think of this section so far as compared to the first one?

Still not really enjoying the book but this section is better than the first.

12. Where do you think the dogs went at the end of this section? Do you think there is a relation do between the elk woman and dogs or just used for the imagery?

I think the dogs can tell Elk Woman is around and went to find her.

DQs Day 2: Friday - Still Tuesday 68 - 129 (42%)

5. Wow. I was not expecting this section to end that way, did you? I really thought Lewis was going to be our main protagonist for the rest of the story. Were you surprised like me or were you able to predict the bloody ending?

The bloody ending wasn't that surprising since the section was titled "The House That Ran Red". I did not expect that ending though.

6. Lewis was often wondering why the “elk woman” was terrorizing him and his friends in this order. What do you think? Any predictions on which friend we’ll follow next?

Only 2 choices - 50/50 chance of guessing right.

7. Do you think the elk woman is real or just in the minds of our protagonists? If she is real: any ideas of who she might be?

Real or fantasy - is it in the mind of the believer/reader? hmmmm....

8. At one point Lewis thinks that Shaney can’t be all bad because she doesn’t fold down the pages on books. What are your feelings on dog-earing books? How do you like to keep your place when you read?

Dog-earing books annoys me, so does people who right in books. You can do what you in your own books, but not in library books! I use a bookmark. I love this question. Am still not really liking the book though.

1. Just here for the points, or was this one on your radar already? Is horror a genre you usually read, or is this an opportunity for you to go outside your comfort zone?

This was not on my radar, horror is in my comfort zone and the points are a plus.

2. This book starts as I suspect it means to continue: Bleak, dark and with a hefty dollop of misery. Do you like it when a book starts in the middle of the action, or do you prefer a happy slice of life first before everything goes awry?

Depends on the book - definitely knew something would be happening by how this one started.

3. The elk. Were you intrigued about this straight away? Did you instinctively see this as a psychological or supernatural issue?

I'm still not getting the elk yet and the book isn't doing much for me yet.

4. What do you think so far? Anything standing out that you really like or don’t like?

Blah...

I vote for #3 but I think I will be in the minority 😂 - so spell-out would be my next choice.

I’m going on a short vacation until Tuesday (Florida 😎) and won’t have computer access. I’ve updated everything I’ve finished for this round on the spreadsheet.

I am going to Jacksonville, Florida for a few days - this Saturday to Tuesday. I got my husband tickets to see the Buffalo Bills 🏈play down there for his birthday present 🎁

I'm good with any of the three but I think #3 could be interesting.
