Mamacita - for The Troubleshooter, can you please provide a description on how it fits task T17 & T19? Great job on three tasks with one book🎉

On my way home from vacation. Flight is 2 hours late departing so I will be getting home around midnight. It seems like I will have some catching up to do! I’ll need to figure out the new mini.

FYI - I leave for vacation today. We get back on June 14th. I will not have a computer with me. I'll update the SS for my books when I get back.

Going to Seattle, Washington with my husband, my daughter and her boyfriend for three nights then on to Mount Rainer National Park for 4 nights😀

Megan - will you be adding your books to the tracking SS or do you need one of the captains to do it? Either is fine - I just don't want it to end up there twice. Let us know😉

I'm not sure if the next mini will a 1/2 month or longer? A month? I guess we'll find more then. All I saw was that there will be another - no details😀😂

I will be participating in the Maze. How long it takes to read a book obviously depends on the book, but I can often get through an audiobook in 24 to 48 hours.

9) Considering Satoru seems to be quite perceptive overall, do you think he knew about Sugi’s less charitable feelings about him, both in the past and during this visit?

No, I don't think so, I think he is a genuinely kind person.

10) So far, the chapters have all been combining Satoru and Nana’s journey with Satoru’s past with several other people, as well as their backgrounds. How do you feel about this interlude (chapter 3.5) focused entirely on the man and his cat? What does it add to the story?

It gives a better idea abut how the cat feels about Saturo.

11) For the first time, we got a hint of what’s going on with Satoru when the dog said “he smells like he isn’t going to make it” in chapter 3, and this came up again in chapter 3.5. So it sounds like Satoru is ill… was that your prediction for question 4?

I had no prediction until after answering that question but given what I have read since then, I would say he is ill.

12) Squabbles between cats and dogs were really present in these sections. So: Are you a cat person or a dog person or both (or neither)?

Neither. But my husband is a cat person and had one when we got married so it was package deal😂

@Yasmine - it was entered fine - I did move it to another task though. We had another book to cover #56 but need a lot of "I"s so I moved it there since the narrator's last name fits.

5) I really like reading the cat's thoughts. It can be quite funny. Do you think these are convincing cat thoughts?

I do! Cats can be crafty😂

6) In this chapter we are introduced to Yoshimine, another potential owner for our cat. What do you think of him and his backstory?

He wasn't very good to the cats but seemed to have been a good friend to Saturo and had a kind grandmother.

7) Do you think Yoshimine would have been a good owner for Nana ?

Not really - I think he wants a cat "worker"

8) Yoshimine has already a kitten called Chatran, and Satoru makes fun of him for naming his cat with such a cliché name. What is for you the most cliché cat name(s)? In french it is quite common to call a cat Chaussette (meaning sock), Mistigri or Felix (actually a cat food brand).

DQs 16 May: Prologue - The Husband Without a Wife

1. How are you liking the way the story is written with its alternating POVs ? Is there a POV you prefer ?

They are interesting POV's. The cat is unique. So far, I haven't had too much trouble with the switch.

2. Through the flashbacks we get to know Satoru's personality a bit more. What do you make of him so far ? What did you think about his way of helping his friend Kosuke?

Saturo seems more outgoing and adventurous than Kosuke but very kind.

3. Talking about Kosuke, what's up with his parents ? It seemed to me that Kosuke was genuinely convinced that his father would agree to keep the cat (Hachi). What did you think about his backstory ?

His dad just didn't want them to have a cat, not really an unusual response from a parent.

4. Why do you think Satoru can't take care of Nana anymore ?

I don't know, illness?

This only my second TT and the last one, all of the minis ran the entire length of the challenge, so I'm not sure if this is "normal"😂
