yes, it's so early in the game that she can only help move along the main labor completions. Then we can open more bonuses and attack those together :D

35559 FYI- to keep in mind for strategy:

Bonus Scaling
For teams with between 0 - 3 total Main Labor completions, they will be allowed to have 2 Bonuses open.
For teams with between 4 - 7 total Main Labor completions, they will be allowed to have 3 Bonuses open.
For teams with between 8 - 10 total Main Labor completions, they will be allowed to have 4 Bonuses open.
For teams with between 11 - 12 total Main Labor completions, they will be allowed to have 5 Bonuses open.

I think your right Emily. I've been looking around at other spreadsheets. Our tasks are pretty easy, so I think that balances out the number of them (9). It just seems strange that we get more points by actually doing the main tasks- 10 points per book.

35559 I think since you are a fast reader it may be best for you to work on the bonuses. Will you be able to keep up the pace with work? I've got only one more week of work and then I can get busy with my reading. But I'm still not very fast :/

We should try to complete labors first for the bonus points. That's probably obvious. That's why I picked a Topiary book.

Either way by finishing all the main tasks, all teams end with the same points. I guess the bonuses will allow teams to push ahead.
So, all that said... I'm guessing you'll go for an A book. ;)

35559 Lol! I think we can cover it. I've got a few pink ones in there. I'm guessing Gea will have pink, she loves those Romance books ;)
I'm so overwhelmed and am not sure where to start. I've got a topiary book - Wildalone. Love that Kindle search. Found 20 books with Topiary in it :D

35559 I think it might be an error, I've look on other team spreadsheets and they only have 4 or 5 tasks. I'll ask mods.

I'm going to enter some of your books, so we can open a bonus. Can you give me details to put as a reason for :
Itsy bitsy spider- Read a book where someone is mentally unbalanced. (character name?)
Alone on the ice - Read a book that takes place in winter with snow. (maybe setting, place ?)
Thank you!
Not sure how specific we need to be, but I just want to make sure ;)

I'm going to enter some books in Labor 6. Can you give me some more details to put under "reason" for - Read a book where someone is murdered. I think we need to put who was murdered.
Thank you!

35559 Anyone know if we can read ARC or NetGalley books? I have a book I'd like to read but it isn't released until September 20th.

Yes, I'll put your name on the spreadsheet. :D

Sounds good, I'm going to let you do that. I'm crossed eyed looking at this. More coffee needed!
Sep 11, 2016 06:48AM

35559 WOW! Y'all have been busy! let me make some coffee and start plugging these books into our spreadsheet :D

I think
Read a book where someone works at a non-profit.
Would be great. I think that's a harder one to fill.

I believe Poongothai has finished our planning spreadsheets, looking beautiful P!!!!

35559 Good Morning All!

I'd like to stress to the whole group that it will be most important to communicate with each other about which task we are reading for. I would hate to see 2 people reading for the 800 page book at the same time. That is where the spreadsheets are going to be important

It seems that most any book can fit into multiple tasks, so that part is great.
I was thinking we could start by filling in those less obvious tasks first. For example - Read a book with a topiary in it. Will be harder than -Read a book that's title starts with S.

Also, It is my understanding that the books Do Not have to be in the same Genre as the Labor.
For example:
Labor 1 - The Fantasy -
◈ Speak in Parselmouth to capture the Basilisk - Read a book that's title starts with S
This book does not have to be a Fantasy book. It could be a Romance or other genre.

35559 Camilla wrote: "I looked at the rules and have one question: if I understood correctly, we get points for every book read and not only when a labor is completed? I mean, can we read for whatever task has not been ..."

Yes, You are correct. There is a bit of strategy I think as well, completing a labor gets us a bonus. So I don't think we necessarily want to spread across all the labors initially.

Thank you P!!! I am just beside myself with excitement over this next challenge! Ladies it should be a lot of fun! BUT we will need everyone to try to communicate :) it is similar to the Olympics tasks, which was very specific and required claiming a task. Each task can only be completed once , so it is important that each task is claimed and completed.

Polar Bears- please read over the rules, it is important :) Any questions please ask or message either myself or Poongothai.
