Hey my friends! 😁 my test is over and I have my reading time back!!! Now I just have to wait 5-6 weeks for results 😜
I will finish The Chestnut Man tomorrow, which is a BOTM. So some extra little points there. I have a few others to get on with. Will try for longer rather than shorter.
Quick question, can we get a Sin Bingo for Avarice? Yellow cover, Dystopian and “Anything goes?” ... seems too easy.

Day 2 DQ's– Chapters 20 – 38

6 We have got a fair way into the book now and my first question is to ask how you feel about it? What do you like / dislike about it
~~~ I’m listening to it on an audiobook but am finding it pretty easy to follow along. The names are so foreign to me, so that’s a bit difficult but otherwise It’s pretty interesting.

7. What are your impressions about the time line from Marius to Kristine to Laura?
~~~ I’m not sure about what you mean for this one . Maybe I’m not following as week as I thought , lol

8. Hess and Thulin are not necessarily bosom buddies How do you see their differing working methods and relationship developing?
~~~ I foresee them actually learning to appreciate each other more than they would have expected. They each bring something different to the case.

9. Hess insists on visiting Magnus Kjaer and showing him some photographs. What do you think is the significance of "The chestnut man" being something new?
~~~ I found it interesting that Hess sought out and connected with Magnus. I’m not sure of the significance is just yet, other than him noticing that it was a new addition.

10. Erik Sejer Lassen is arrested - there is a lot going on during the chase - How do you read the events leading up to the arrest and during the questioning?
~~~ I found the medical connection to be really interesting , all the kids at the same hospital with odd injuries. Seems really suspicious to me, like abuse is a key in all of this.

I dread my long books ... but now I’m looking forward to checking them off my list. #2moredays!

Day 1 DQs

1. At the very beginning we are hit with a chilling image and as Officer Marius is descending into the basement looking for one of the little girls he "...becomes aware of the room. Glancing around, he realizes what it's been used for. He's disgusted." What do you think this room was used for?
Torture, and probably murder

2. We get brief look at what happens to Laura before Thulin and Hess get called out to the scene. While looking over the body and the garden Thulin notices a chestnut doll and has an odd reaction to it. "It's a simple doll consisting of two spheres and four sticks, but briefly, for some reason she can't explain, it makes Thulin's heart stop." Why do you think she had a strong reaction? Could it be a repressed memory?
I wonder if Thulin was a victim of a similar crime when she was younger . Or the Chestnut man was in a previously crime she worked on.

3. Speaking of Thulin and Hess. I'm a bit put off by the both of them. Thulin seems to think homicide is boring and Hess just seems to not give a flying rat's behind about anything. What do you think of our MCs so far?
they’re both unremarkable , but I have a feeling they are connected to the current investigation on a deeper level

4. Then we have Rosa and Steen, the parents of Kristine who is missing and presumed dead. They each have a different way of handling their grief. Rosa has thrown herself into her work as a politician and Steen is drowning his sorrows in alcohol. As a parent it's really hard to imagine losing a child. How do you think you would handle losing your child? Do you think their reactions are typical for parents who have lost a child?
I don’t think anyone can imagine the pain in losing a child, especially in such a horrific way

5. Do you think Kristine Hartung is still alive? Or is it a cruel joke being played on her parents? Why or why not?
I’m not really sure, I go back and forth on this idea. More than likely she is dead... but I wonder if the guy they captured really was the killer 🤔

I’m officially in crunch time for my exam. It’s on Wednesday Nov 6th. I will finish 2 books but definitely can’t get to my third before this weeks deadline. Next week I will for sure get in my regular 3. After Wednesday 😏

I love Halloween , we live in the country and don’t get trick or treaters because we are so far away from each other. I miss those days of door to door fun!🎃👻🎃
