35559 I'm finishing Horns Horns by Joe Hill for a book with a horn on the cover and
Iced Under (A Maine Clambake Mystery, #5) by Barbara Ross Iced Under to finish off the food on cover tasks. I will have both done by tomorrow at the latest.

I do still have a book set in Idaho if that is still open later tomorrow

I guess I was seeing the cover as a face overall with horns at the top. But as long as the imp has horns, that works too :)

35559 Would we agree that this book cover has horns at the top? The Gates The Gates (Samuel Johnson, #1) by John Connolly

I think I have a couple horns. I am going to drop the Idaho book as that seem like people are having an easier time finding those. I will finish the food tasks and I would move on to horns and cornupia.

35559 I don't know if we are. I just thought it was useful tool. I would wait for Danielle and Cat to weigh in. I hadn't heard that about TinEye and I appreciate the feedback!

35559 Hiya Teammates ~ when possible, could you please remember to fill in the resource options on the planning sheet for all books, even if you entered info to use the book in the mini challenge?

It would be greatly appreciated :) Thank you!

35559 The spreadsheet that we are using to plan and record our books, has links at the top center for our discussion thread, the status sheet that I included above, and overall standings. Makes it easier to get around.

35559 I have spot C37 for a book set in Idaho. I still have the book and can read it, but I am working on the 3 different foods on the cover tasks.

If someone needs or wants to grab the Idaho spot from me, go for it! I'll get to the task, but I would like to finish the food set first as it seems to be more difficult to find.

Done! I shouldn't add things when I'm tired :)

This series Clammed Up (A Maine Clambake Mystery, #1) by Barbara Ross seem to have 3 food items on all the covers and seem to be quick reads. I can get my hands on them and will start running through them to help with that section in the mini. I have the first book listed already.

35559 I am rereading The Hunger Games for the informal buddy read and loving it! I also had a couple of library books come in:

The River We Remember and The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie will be the next 2 I tackle

The River We Remember by William Kent Krueger The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (Flavia de Luce, #1) by Alan Bradley

I like that they were using it as a tactic, but I also think I would have enjoyed it more with the angst of a love triangle. I am also old LOL.

I would like to mention that I am loving this reread! I don't think I would have picked up this book again if it wasn't for this challenge. I am looking forward to the rest of the series!

I was just going to make a post about this! I also read The Lottery in school for AP English, and I think that was the story that made me fall in love with the short story genre. It was so unique compared to other things I had read in the past.

As I read the Hunger Games, I am constantly reminded of The Lottery as well as The Long Walk and The Running Man by Stephen King (originally released as Richard Backman).

Has anyone else found themselves reflecting on those stories while reading The Hunger Games?

I can see as I go further in that Katniss may have an inkling of her feelings for Gale that aren't entirely platonic. She mentions wishing he was there (but not actually there) to share moments with. You can sense the potential for a friendship turning into something more.

35559 REMINDER NOTICE!

Our exalted Captain Cat requested team members add the page count to their Book Games individual shelves. This is a friendly reminder to please accomplish this task :)

Cat's instructions are below on how to add that page count option to your shelf. If you need help with the task, please let me know.

This message is also posted under message 10 at the beginning of this team page if you need to refer back to the instructions without hunting it down in the chat thread. You are all the absolute best! Thank you teammates :)

How to do this:
- go to your shelf page
- at the top, below the main ribbon, is the subset of options (reads Batch Edit / Settings / Stats / Print / Enable Sorting)
- select Settings - it'll expand to show all the fields that can be displayed
- select "num pages"
- press the "Save current settings..." button
- smile with a job well done to ease the captains' lives :)

Thanks!

I am at the beginning part of the book and it is a reread from years ago for me. I laughed when Katniss straight out says there is no romantic feelings between her and Gale and she doesn't seem interested in the least. It's funny because I remember rooting for them as a couple. I don't remember picking up on her putting Gale in the "Friend Zone". Maybe the movies changed my perception of their relationship.
