Dee, you have to answer some discussion questions. I plan on reading two of them this month

When I look at Dee's page, it says "read in November" for that book, so I'm not seeing anything that looks suspicious. Maybe the mods can see more?

I posted my book for goal #48

If anyone wants it, or finishes more quickly than me for the song task, you can totally take it! ;)

The book I am reading now has a chapter about a piano bar lounge singer, so lots of songs by name! Should finish it by this weekend. Olive Kitteridge. Sorry on my phone.

Olive Kitteridge and
The Lost Hero on deck, and don't think either of those work for any of the goals, but I will be keeping an eye on this thread

FYI, I will be heading off for Thanksgiving festivities this weekend, so will have limited access to the site and my computer. I have loaded my Kindle with books though, so hopefully will be able to update when I get back on Monday.

Emily, you can go to google books or amazon and search for text in books. That is what I meant when I said that we could help Barbara look, bc that must have taken her forever to search all of our read books!

What does that even mean?! I don't know anything about Tarot! So it has to have a tarot card AND that specific card in it?
Oh Barbara, we can help you look for things! That must have taken forever!

For the "get in shape" goal, In "the Child Thief" the kids train how to fight or die for battle. It is in the book description. Does that count?

Yeah and they have really easy goals, like read a Romance genre, read a Sci-Fi. Lol and we get find the word "garnet"! Oh well guys, we are doing the best we can with what we were dealt!

28. Six of Crows that I read had "garnet" in the text.
(Loc 5938): "the wet red of garnets"

Geez louise, I am sorry but are we unlucky or what?! These goals are ridiculous

Yeah and all 3 of you happen to have pretty obscure books hovering at the very top, with less than 50 ratings or so

Did the mods discuss how many reviews a book needs to have before it counts as the highest average rated one? B/c that is what is limiting us.

Barbara, do you have a shorter list of what you are going to read soon? I have an "on deck" list. Could we use that? I see a to-read-2015 shelf with only 40 books on it and they seem way more popular and available?

I think maybe people use their TBR shelves differently. I am a book hoarder, like Barbara, ;) so I have some 1200 books on mine. Other people really only put books they intend to read in the near future. So the mods probably thought it would be an easy task of a highly read and rated book. But Barbara has literally 8000 books on hers and lots of them look self published or not well read or available. If the mods would cut us some slack, like read something above a 4.50 average rating or read ONE of the top 1% of barbara's books, that would help. Otherwise I do think we will have to use a boon or let barbara read it herself!
