33903 SOS' 2024 Read-a-Thon
During the month of September, SOS hosts a 24-hour Read-a-thon (RAT). We all have a mountainous to-be-read stack we'd love to topple. And, many have yearly challenges that are approaching the ¾ mark. It's once again time to get those books read!

SOS RAT 2024

Not able to spend 24 hours doin' nuthin' but reading? Don't worry, most of us can't either. So, we're shakin' it up a bit and allowing members to tally up their read time to equal 24 hours.

Duration: September 1-30, 2024

Goal: Read for 24 hours during the month of September - easy and simple.

Rules: To make it a bit more exciting, in order for your reading time to count towards your 24, you must choose one of the options below to follow.

Reading Options (hours spent reading each sitting):
⓵ DO NOT DISTURB: One day (24h)
⓶ NOSE TO THE GRINDSTONE: Two days (12h)
⓷ WILL WORK FOR BOOKS: Three days (8h)
⓸ SLOW & STEADY: Four or more days (2-7h)

(More detailed explanation can be found HERE)
In order for time to count towards your 24-hours, steady reading must be done for at least 2 or more hours in one sitting.

✣ Sign-up below by stating that you would like to participate in the RAT and include which reading option you will be following. You are welcome to change your reading option at any time during the RAT.

✣ Those participating are welcome to create a RAT thread ( here ) to use throughout the month to share your books, ratings & reviews, chat with friends, etc.

Once you've reached 24 hours, share your results on our FINAL RAT STATS thread.

NOTE: For those who previously participated, you can find your previous RAT threads (2013+) in our archive folders. Click on DISCUSSIONS on the group menu, then scroll down to the RAT archive folders - organized by year.

✣ You are also welcome to read along with a partner or a group of people. However, each person must read a total of 24 hours to complete the RAT.

33903 Nice. I’d struggle choosing which character though 😆

33903 Right?! Yes, girl and no doubt they’re not doing anything that won’t make money. They’d love it if we accidentally repurchased a book we’d already read (is that possible 😬).

33903 LOL! I hear ya.

I was thinking it'd be helpful if Amazon noted a book as read on the book page on their website, not just within the Kindle specifically. I sort my Kindle to show me only unread, downloaded. If I had it show all unread I think my brain would explode with the overload. Like you, I have a library's worth of freebies.

I guess I'll have to be happy with them showing books as read on the kindle and within the 'devices and content' listing.

33903 Is it just me ... or do y'all agree it'd be extremely helpful if Amazon would tell us, on the book's page, if we'd read the book? It shows if you'd borrowed it, if you'd bought it, but you have to go to your devices and content pages to see if you've read it. Of course, tracking it all here on GR helps, but cutting out that step sure would be nice.

If I'm missing something and this exists, please share 😊

33903 I loved this series - beginning to end, buuuuut, I'd hoped there'd be more of a conclusion/resolution between Lizzie, Aiden and his mom. We had so much book-time spent on the will-they, won't-they that I wanted more after they did.

Anyway, as sad as I am this series has ended, I'm anxiously awaiting whatever Keri will put out next.
