33627 Ok, as I'm always looking for great new book recommendations, I'll be first :-)

I'm looking for amazing urban fantasy novels/series:
- my absolute favourite is Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series, I loved Mastre of None by Sonya Bateman and Embers by Laura Bickle
- I already have the Mercy Thompson series and Kim harrison's Hollows series on my TBR shelf

Needing recommendation in another category: funny paranormal novels. I already have Strange Neighbors by Ashlyn Chase and the Witchcraft series by Juliet Blackwell on my TBR list, what other great funny and original paranormal novels are there I should check out?

Thank you all! :-)
33627 Wow Stephanie, that is amazing! Congrats!! :-D

33627 I agree, that makes sense, I can picture him with his youth. Great casting choice :-)

33627 This is also a character discussion thread where we'll be discussing Lucien De Noir, Fallen, guardian angel, protective friend and SPOILER *father* SPOILER of Dante.

What did you think of Adrian Phoenix's take on angels? Of Lucien in particular? Was he a character you liked or didn't really care about? Share your thoughts here.

33627 I think Dante was a very interesting and complex character. Adrian Phoenix really gave him layers, he was so much more than just a pretty face (and body ;-p). It was amazing that after all the hardships, all the torture (both physical and emotional) he has endured in his short 23 years he still remained a warm hearted, compassionate person. I admired his strength and tenacity.

I had some problems with fully joining the ranks of the Dante lovers: first the age difference bothered me: a 31 year old woman with a 23 year old boy?

And even though he is described as breathtakingly beautiful, although I understand the whole goth/emo attitude/make up/cloths were justified and complemented his character, they just reinforced my seeing Dante as a rebel teenager full of rebellion, defiance and pent up rage. Which again is normal regarding his history but kept me from connecting with the character as a romantic hero.

Please don't hurt me *searches for a sofa to dive behind in case*

ps: But I agree, French speaking men are sexy! :-D

33627 This is the place to share your thoughts about the unique paranormal universe Adrian Phoenix has created in A Rush of Wings.

Let's discuss the different paranormal species present in the book and how they are different/similar to other UF/Paranormal novels and universes, the different traits and powers they have, etc.

33627 Felicia, I'm still further behind: I only have it on my TBR pile, haven't read the series yet.. But will soon! :-)

33627 Oh, I just realized with all my babbling I didn't answer the initial questions *blushes*

It was for the same reason Stephanie did: I wanted to have a place where I could put a list of all the books I've read and have my reviews at the same place. And then when I signed up for my blog I discovered reading challenges and I was awed! And then I started meeting people and had even more fun :-D

33627 Thank you all for your review links, I'll be making the rounds :-)

33627 I didn't even have a clue that blogs existed until this January when one of my colleagues showed me some wonderful cooking blogs with delicious recipes and yummy pics. I started browsing and somehow came across book blogs! What a revelation!! I loved them instantly! I debated with myself whether or not start one, but the pull was too strong and in anbout 1-2 weeks of discovering that such a thing as "blogs" existed I created mine! There was no question in me that it would be a book blog (though I also have a small cooking/baking feature), as reading is such an elemental part of who I am and I love discussing books and being part of book fan communities.

My blog is now 3,5 months old, and I'm amazed at the fantastic community of book bloggers. They are so helpful, kind and fun to be around! So it was definitely a great decision, and I love it! And it also drives me to read more :-)
