I'm really surprised that I didn't like this as much as I did the others. I heard that it was better than the other two. I think I just expected to be more scared
Currently Reading...

Just started this, but it's not what I expected.

Anyways, now that school is in progress (Here in Canada it just started), list the books that you enjoyed reading that was part of your school/class syllabus.
It doesn't matter if you read it in grade school, high school, college or university
Here is my list:

Honorable Mention

Actual Textbooks Read

There's also this textbook I had to read re: the partition of India and Pakistan. It's a collection of stories of real events that happened during that time. It's dark and made me cry more than once. I can't remember the book. It was so good I couldn't part with it, I have it in my bookcase back at my parent's place.

BRIGID: I've been meaning to pick up Uprooted, darn, now I think I'm going to hold off on it since you didn't find it that great.
HEIDI: OMG. I can't believe Reese's daughter is already 16! O_O

I wasn't that partial to Lucy I have to admit. She's not bad, but there are times that she annoyed me. I enjoyed her relationship with the two tho.
What I enjoyed the most about the book is the description of the creepy surroundings. I actually want to continue the series if my library has more of its audio.

Bought...

I wanted to get the fourth book of Heroes of Olympus, but they didn't have the hardcover of it in my bookstore.
Oh and I also bought an "adult" coloring book. I caved and bought. It's just so pretty!

DAVID: I heard so many people say that about Red Queen. I bought the book awhile back, but now I'm so hesitant to read it because of all the reviews -_-

I'm really surprised about this book. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. I didn't really like the first one, but this one was a lot better. Freaked me out! O_O

I read the first book last year, wasn't that impressed, but I wanted something scary. So yea...

Here is somewhat of a differences of the two genre. (Got it from a random site I just googled. O_O)
DIFFERENCES
Setting
For some, the critical difference is setting. Most agree urban fantasy must take place in a city, but the setting can be historical, modern, or even futuristic. The key is that it’s in an urban environment.
Paranormal romance does not dictate any particular setting.
Plot
Others look to how the element of romance is dealt with in the plot. An urban fantasy’s plot is the same as any fantasy: good versus evil, saving the world, etc. The subgenre usually involves a city-dwelling protagonist who is able to work magic and/or is of supernatural heritage. It may or may not have a romance element. Most do, but as a subplot or backdrop to the main action plot. For this reason, some believe the romance element of urban fantasy does not need to follow the requisites of true romance, adhering to the happily-ever-after ending.
Oppositely, in paranormal romance, the primary goal is for the characters to fall in love. It’s all about the love relationship, whether light or steamy. There must be a HEA conclusion. Paranormal romance, like regular romance, can cover the whole genre spectrum. These works can also include comedy, historical, futuristic, contemporary, mystery, fantasy, sci-fi, gothic, or erotica along with their fantastic themes.
Based upon the difference in how the romance element is handled, many place urban fantasy as a subgenre within fantasy, while paranormal romance is placed under the larger heading of romance. I tend to disagree; simply the presence of imaginary beings makes it fantasy for me.
Characters
Urban fantasy creatures, such as vampires, tend to maintain their more traditional reputations rather than being vegetarian, sparkly, and/or romantic as they are in paranormal romance.

My list is not that great. I just realize I don't really read a lot of urban fantasy.
