That was a great book. You aren't too behind, compared to me. I just recently read Death Masks!


DHASG August Challenge
Introduction: It's August and it's hot! We're looking at 100 degree weather, and let's hope August your reading is just as hot!
Rules:
1. Any DHASG member can participate in the challenge.
2. Books must be read between August 1st and August 31st.
3. A book may only be used once for this challenge.
4. Post or link to your final stats when you are completed.
5. In your stats, list book name, author and date read. Unless obvious, include why you choose a certain book in parentheses in your stats.
Levels:
1. Eight is Enough: Read 8-12 books.
2. Eighth Wonder: Read 5-7 books.
3. Figure Eight: Read 3-4 books.
Categories:
1.Romance Awareness!: August is Romance Awareness Month. Be our Romance Awareness Agent and read a romance novel this month.
2.Simplify Your Life: Week 1 of August is National Simplify Your Life Week. You can help simplify your life by reading down your tbr pile. Read a book that you've had on the tbr pile for at least 6 months.
3.Friends Are Forever: Week 3 of August is Friendship Week. Read a book featuring friendship as a major plot theme.
4.Sisters Rock!: The first Sunday in August celebrates sisterhood--being or having a sister. Read a book with characters who are sisters.
5.Book Lover's Holiday!: August 9th is Book Lovers Day. This one is a gimme. Any book you read this month can count for it because you deserve it. You're a book lover!
6.Lazy Day: When is being lazy a good thing? Well it is on August 10th. It's a day to kick back and do as little as possible. Any book you read on August 10th, you can count.
7.Son and Daughter Day: For August 11th, we celebrate and cherish sons and daughters. Read a book with a lead character who has a son or a daughter (or both or more than one of either). Or you can read a book where the lead character is a son or daughter and that status is a theme of the novel.
8.Your Love is Like Bad Poetry!: Read a book that has a title like a bad poem to celebrate this holiday on August 18th.
9.Middle Child Syndrome: August 12th recognizes the Jans and Peters of the family: The middle children. Read a book with a prominent character who is a middle child or shares characteristics of a middle child:
Flexible, Easy-going, Independent, May be an excellent mediator or negotiator, May feel that life is unfair, May feel unloved or squeezed out by siblings, Can be highly adaptable, Often generous and sociable, May try to differentiate themselves from the eldest sibling through behaviors and interests, May perceive that the oldest or youngest child are the parents' "favorites", May be rebellious, Engage in attention seeking behaviors, May be extremely competitive. 8. Be An Angel: This day on August 22nd encourages us to be angels for others. Do something nice and help others. Read a book where a prominent character takes this seriously or where a character is a bonafide, heavenly angel.
9. Kiss and Make Up!: August 25th is a day to make up with loved ones. Don't we just love a good make up scene in our romance books? Well, read a book with a really wonderful makeup scene!
10.Just Because: For August 27th, we should do something just because. Read a book just because....(Tell us why you chose it).
11.Ride the Wind: What does that imply to you? Riding in a car driving down the highway at 70 mph, riding on the back of a motorcycle, riding a horse, sailing on a boat? Read a book where a character "rides the wind" in honor of August 23rd.
12.Reader's Choice: Pick one of the following holidays and read a book for it. Let us know which one: Women's Equality Day, National Dog Day, Frankenstein Day, National Trail Mix Day, Left Hander's Day.
