That's true, I agree.

To be fair neither of these characters have had a normal life for them to have "healthy teenage behavior". Not to mention they're from a different era. Jessie, Jem and Tessa are all orphans. Will had his fake curse. So what you probably describe as healthy teenage behavior is based on this era that you've lived in and hopefully a less of a tragic life.

And I agree with you that Stephanie Meyer is a great writer. In the first book, though, she used the word "incredulous" alot. But her books began my ..."
Continuing with the off topic convo, The Host is so much better in comparison to Twilight. Although the ending wasn't the greatest.

I am not going to like Jem just because he is dying. His situation is not going to make me just fall all over him because his life is of..."
I agree with you and of course we don't love Jem, because he's dying! There's so much to his character other than his health. That was such an obvious thing that I didn't even comment on that post before. Not to mention I was dumbfounded by that comment. Also I could argue the same thing about Will and say how many people would have still liked him if he never had the curse on him and had stayed with his family. I would never use that argument though, cause it's pointless and irrelevant.

Then that would mean she technically ends up with Jem. After Will dies of course.

Cecily’s eyes narrowed, “This morning it was …, and now it’s idiot.”

“I suppose that would depend on whether they would cut me in with part of the profit.”
She shook her head. “Jem is your parabati. He is your partner given to you by the Clave, but I am your sister by blood. Why would you do anything for him but you only want me to go home?”
“How do you know the drugs are for Jem?” Will said.
“I’m not an idiot, Will.”
“No, more the pity. Jem… Jem is like the better part of me. I would not expect you to understand. I owe him—I owe him this.”
“So why why?”
Will exhaled, too desperate to check himself. “You are my weakness.”
… her heart, she said not angrily, but thoughtfully, “I’m not a fool, as I told you. I’m not an idiot. And more the pity for you, I suppose we all want something we can’t have.”
“No,” said Will, “and what do you want?”
“I want you to come home.”
… pulled her cloak closer about her, to make her safe, as he have when she was a child.
“The Institute is my home,” Will sighed as he set his head against the stone wall. “I can’t stand out here arguing with you all evening, Cecily. If you are determined to follow me into hell, I can’t stop you.”
Finally, she said gruelingly and seemed sense, “I knew you would. You’re related to me.”

… using a glamour rune, “There’s one thing …. when you live in the country, but this is London.”
“I’m not afraid of London,” Cecily said defiantly.
Will leaned closer, almost sizzling in her ear and said something very complicated …
“No, it wouldn’t do you any good to tell me to go home. You’re my brother and I want to go with you.”
It was the sort of thing he used to hear Jem say. And although Cecily was unlike Jem in every other conceivable, possible way. She did share one quality with him—stubbornness. When Cecily said she wanted something, it was always expressed … iron determination.
“Do you even care where I’m going,” he says. “What if I’m going to hell?
“I’ve always wanted to see hell,” Cecily said.
“Doesn’t everyone.”
“Most of us try to find our way out of it,” said Cecily.

I honestly find it very sick when people wish death upon characters! I'm aware they're not real people. I mean you can not like a character all you want, but to want them to die is pretty messed up. It makes me think you would enjoy someone's death in real life as well. At least that's how I see it every time someone says they wish Jem or Simon died.
On another note why does everyone hate Simon or used to? He was always my favorite character, he used to be better than most of them before the whole two timing thing. I still think he's pretty great.

Yes, the person in the white dress who was talking to Magnus (in the epilogue of CoG) was, indeed, Tessa. Cassi..."

I've mentioned this enough times, but I'll repeat it. If you've read CoFA you would know that Tessa is immortal. Not a ghost, or time travel or any of that.

But she doesn't die, we know that! So....

I agree that Will would be unhappy right now, whether or not he has Tessa. Naturally he would have a lot of issues, both emotionally and psychologically. I think he has to deal with all that first and then get into a relationship. I have to mention that I believe the same goes for Tessa. She doesn't even know what or who she is. I think Jem's the only one who has a better idea of who he is and what he wants out of the three of them. That's why he's my favorite.

That's because the whole 2nd book was about Will/Tessa/Jem relationship and Will's curse. Mortmain didn't even appear in CP and there were only a very few mentions and hints at his plans. Naturally people are more focused on the characters =)

Lol

It was mentioned way before Magnus's Vow that Tessa's immortal! Have you not read CoFA?

Lol you sound just like one of my friends! She wants Jem & Tessa together, cause she says if it's Will, it's gonna be TMI all over.

“Oh, God, the lovebirds,” Magnus said, pulling the pillow off his face. “I hate happy couples.”
