no new recordings for 17 years, but, yes, the mighty misty in roots are still on the go, just as good as they ever were. predictably going for something off the best live album in history, purely because the song has been bouncing around my head recently. give thanks for keeping u.k. roots alive.

a couple of excellent new releases from corn-fed productions. as i've said, 'seewhy audio' sources rare or o.o.p. reggae albums and singles, remasters them from vinyl, and packages them in original artwork. his aim is to keep the music alive and get it out there for the likes of me who wouldn't be able to afford the originals, never mind find them. plus, the sound quality is stunning!

CF 357 Vivian Jones - Jah Works (1987 1CD)

as presented/produced by jah shaka and backed by the jah shaka all-stars, exceptional roots, unavailable since release 33 years ago. superb vocals from jamaican-born jones. a u.k. triumph.

CF 362 Wackie’s ‘Nature’s Dub + Douglas Levy ‘Dub Roots’ (1980 1 CD)

hard, heavy, and very distinctive dubbing from new york's 'wackies records'. 2 albums + extras created under the stewardship of jamaican-born lloyd bullwackies barnes. towering wall crumbling stuff.

i had a shot of home brewing - followed how to do a pilsner to the letter - it tasted like pish - end of experiment!
....until.....about 18 months later i found 3 of the abandoned, sealed bottles and thought....i wonder........it was absolutely delicious, really, and it was only after about 3/4 of the bottle that everything turned green, no joke, i started tripping on ancient homebrew.........and only 2 full bottles left. mrs tech thought it prudent to pour them doon the shunker, and it was probably the right decision - didn't want to end up on a 'permo'!
