268590 to quote talking heads, 'don't worry about the government' - the next wave (and make no mistake, it's coming!) will be driven by much younger people becoming infected on a large scale - this will be triggered by idiots who act like it's all over and other idiots who think they're bulletproof after 2 vaccinations - there wont be such a devastating death count this time, but enough severe illness for the lockdown to be rolled out again.

i hope not, but you know people and their capacity to **** things up!

268590 that's a mercy! heard it elsewhere - 0/10 would be grossly over-rating this puerile aural turd!

268590 doctor bird coming up with what looks like a belting release on 14 may,

cherryred.co.uk/product/culture-child...

3xcd set of singles originally released on mrs pottinger's high note label - appears essential, but why, on the cover, are culture posing with the (not seemingly present on the collection) abyssinians?

268590 just about half way thru' the 2nd of two gil scott heron novels which i bought years ago and only unearthed recently. the first, The Vulture, is a murder whodunnit, written when he was 19, set in the black n.y. community - brilliant character creation and development, way above that you might expect of a man of that age. skillfully put together.
the 2nd, The Nigger Factory is basically a very tense read about black students demanding radical change from the faculty of a black university.
thing about both books, is that they could have been written yesterday, as the issues outlined in these are still very valid and ongoing!

for a wee change in pace and location, next up is The Pie At Night: In Search of the North at Play - a whole £3 for the hardback in w.h. smith (oh the thrill of buying a book in a shop!)
268590 naw, didnae google, it was from a film with danny kaye? in it.

now i'll need to google it!

'the court jester' - i'd never have remembered the title.

268590 heavy action in the car,

amazon.co.uk/F-M-Lindemann/dp/B07X7YP...

i find this album a bit of an enigma, as it consists of material that in no way resembles the day jobs of the two gentlemen involved, and not only that, because it is one of those rare albums where every track is a winner - and till could ramp up the perv content of the very imaginative videos that go along with it.
the two, however, have packed it in as a duo, tagtgren to return to the ol' death metal, lindemann will continue under this name (well, it is his) and work with other musicians.
we also have the russian 'complete' lindemann, which contains both albums and all the remixes. hold a gun to my head, i'll tell you that this is where modern 'rock' music should be!

268590 sorry, what you say, can't hear, y'know, the skewers 'n' that!

firstly, assume that's most of them! do they have a song that i like/don't mind/barely tolerate? no. is there any connection to anything i like/don't mind/barely tolerate? no. do they have a song title i can relate to? no. do they present themselves in a manner fitting to my appreciation? no.do they have acceptable ethics? no. then they must be prog! - start from top of youtube listing and scroll down till i find one that hasn't been nominated yet!

actual listening to it quite often doesn't happen.
268590 efterjim,

268590 anyhoo, just saw the uk public in lockdown nutshelled on bbc news.

man being interviewed in pub garden asked interviewer to pause while he savoured a taste of cold beer - made an exaggerated show of enjoying it and let forth a great 'aaaaaaaaah, that's lovely'..........

........he'd just poured it from a ******* bottle that you could have bought in any supermarket!
268590 christ, they'll be trying a new song next!

268590 "New Order‘s 2018 concert"

two words - ster rile!
watched most of it, and tbh it was very 'stadium', very (too) slick and devoid of elements that used to make them essential - the absence of hooky wasn't the worst of it, that'd be sumner's singing, which at times made me cringe (and that's while accepting he was never the world's best), nah, just didnae cut it, and that's a shame, as both mrs t and i are fans - christ, 'blue monday' is 'our song' - she didn't enjoy it either (so it's not just me!)
