222868 Carol.... Is your book club out of a local library, or do you participate in one of the online clubs?

LAB... Since you are so close to Boston and there's a ton of schools in the vicinity, I wonder how expensive the schools are compared to some of the lesser known universities? My friends' two children and anothers' daughter all recently attended college in Boston and even with a full ride, it was very expensive for them to live there. The daughter works in Boston, but the other two came home to CT. One of the siblings had 5 roommates! Whew! That's about 3 too many. Good Luck to your daughter, and I hope that she finds the right school. It takes a while but thousands of graduates find a way to somehow pay back their student loans. I wish her, (and you), all the best.

melindeeloo... I'm on the second to the last book myselfSunrise Point. Sunrise Point (Virgin River, #17) by Robyn Carr I don't know what I am going to listen to when I finish these novels.

On a completely different note, I will be in North Carolina this Thursday until the following Monday, for my Grandmother's, get this, 102nd birthday!!! :-} Vinity or Kristi I would be willing to drive and meet you for lunch or something on Thursday or Friday.
No pressure just a thought. I get in on Thursday around 12:45 in Charlotte.

LAB... Yay for you. That's a nice collection you have going on there. Bishop doesn't have many book signings, (at least I haven't seen very many). Whenever I get books signed, it makes me want to re-read the series all over again.
Does your husband share in your reading enthusiasm?
What school was your daughter visiting? Did you like it?

I can't wait for the wedding either! :-}

222868 "I used to have green grass and flower beds now i have mud puddles.."

Liz.... And it isn't even mud season yet. Between the cold, snow, lots of driving rain, and last season's weeds, my front yard is going to need quite a bit of TLC too.

My Virgin River stint is almost up, I just finished Redwood Bend Redwood Bend (Virgin River, #16) by Robyn Carr which is Book #18!. I liked this one too, a tad bit of bitchiness but not a bad as some of the previous books. I like when couples talk it out more and jump to conclusions less. If there was one thing that I would like it is more catching up on previous couples, and perhaps a couple of weddings thrown in the epilogues.

I'm going to start Change of Fortune Change of Fortune (Miss Fortune Mystery, #11) by Jana Deleon I think that I will enjoy this book, at least I hope so, I hate that her audio comes out way after her e-books.

HappyBookWorm... Thanks re: the basement. I don't know about you but most of my husband's help would have gone something like this...
Get me "this"
Clean "blank" while I push things around over here.
Why don't we throw away all of MY stuff. Why do you need this anyway?
Wash, rinse, repeat!
I love my husband but his "cleaning" and mine are very different.

222868 Wild Irish... I had some of the same feelings about the beginning of the High Voltage book, but then again I felt the same way about much of the Fever books. I had the same feeling about Mac's inner thoughts in Iced, blah, blah. I thought that Moning made Mac a whiny, shadow of herself in that book. I listen to these books and I can't skip through the re-hashed thoughts.
I read, (listened to actually), Moning's Highlander series a few years ago and I don't remember feeling like there was excessive repetition. I almost like them better, because she didn't string us along for 10 plus books and still not give us vital info about the main characters. (For example the mystery of the "9"). I'm not a fan of the last book, last chapter info dump. In fact I hate that, give me something that I can use to jump to my own conclusions, LOL!

222868 TINNGG... If you decide to read the Jane Yellowrock series, don't neglect to read the anthologies. Her short stories usually have either background about a character of some small tidbit of vital info. I like MT Doom, mine is just the Mountain of too many books.

222868 The audio version of Change of Fortune Change of Fortune (Miss Fortune Mystery, #11) by Jana Deleon was released today. I'm so excited that I am finally going to listen to this book. I do wish that Jana DeLeon would release the audio and kindle version at the same time. The book was released on February 13th.

222868 Liz... That has got to be one of the best lines in an UF series.

222868 TINNGG... Have you read Faith Hunter's Jane Yellowrock series or the Belador series by Dianna Love? I would compare the female leads to the Kate Daniels series. All are unique in their own ways, yet all have that serious dedication to their specific causes. They do get hurt, and don't generally make rash decisions. (Not that they don't have to make instant decisions). All have some lighter moments and all of the characters grow throughout their respective series, and not a YA vibe in the bunch.
Like the Kate Daniels series, some people have a harder time getting into those other series, but I would suggest that you give it a few books to actually see if they are right for you.
The first books are--

Blood Trinity Blood Trinity (Belador, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Skinwalker Skinwalker (Jane Yellowrock, #1) by Faith Hunter

Also, the Belador series was originally co-authored by Sherrilyn Kenyon, ( of the Dark Hunters series fame), and Dianna Love. Now they are authored by Dianna Love solely.

Still listening to the Virgin River series, on Book 18, Redwood Bend. Redwood Bend (Virgin River, #16) by Robyn Carr I've noticed that the female h's are progressively a tad less bitchy and less apt to jump to conclusions.

On the personal side, I woke this morning to our built in sump pump acting like a fountain in the basement. The hose that carries the water out separated from the body of the sump pump. All of that water just shot up into the air and hit the underside of my kitchen floor. It was an easy fix, but what a mess. For the second time in the 26 years that we have lived here, our finished side of the basement got wet. The carpet and it's underlayment is soaking wet in places. The whole carpet is not totally soaked, but it is wet for a good 4-5 feet in from the wall. Some days I hate to be a homeowner. LOL!! ;-} Oh, and my husband left to go to Vermont this morning so I had to take a day off to clean. YAY!

222868 LAB... We knew it, Murhder's book. Thanks for letting us know.

TINNGG... I like your analogy about Harlequins, good one. I haven't been a reader of Kearney, but it doesn't sound like I will either.

Paula.... Is the Mayer series (Desert Cursed) YA? I liked the Venom Trilogy books okay, and wondered about her newest series.

Still listening to the Virgin River books. I finished Bring Me Home for Christmas Bring Me Home for Christmas (Virgin River, #14) by Robyn Carr and also Hidden Summit. Hidden Summit (Virgin River, #15) by Robyn Carr

222868 Doug I second Vinity's recommendation regarding Kinsale. Some of her stories are very intense, but extremely well written. They are excellent on audio for our audiophiles.

222868 Carol did you know that the third Golgatha book, The Queen of Swords The Queen of Swords (Golgotha, #3) by R.S. Belcher is up for the 2017 RT Reviewers' Choice Award Nominees — Science Fiction & Fantasy? Now I'm going to have to get all caught up on that series.

222868 I finished the second book in the Rejected Writers series, Rejected Writers Take the Stage Rejected Writers Take the Stage (Southlea Bay, #2) by Suzanne Kelman and it was just as witty as the first book. I like a book that leaves you with a smile after you finish it. In this book, the Rejected club bands together to help Annie, (a member), who rescues dogs save her family farm. This time their big idea is to put on a musical to raise money for her rescue. There are a couple of side stories, a romance that started on the road trip of the last book, (complete with an interfering female), and the continuation of the main characters' daughters' pregnancy. The daughter can be so irritating in a comedic way. This book didn't suffer from the sophomore syndrome.

Like melindeeloo I am back to the Virgin River series, and am listening to Bring Me Home for Christmas. Bring Me Home for Christmas (Virgin River, #14) by Robyn Carr This town is such an appealing "character".

222868 If anyone else has read The Thief The Thief (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #16) by J.R. Ward on the Buddy reads discussion, we have been posting. Caution there will be spoilers. :-}

ETA.... We also have posts about Blood Fury Blood Fury (Black Dagger Legacy, #3) by J.R. Ward and Dearest Ivie Dearest Ivie (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #15.5) by J.R. Ward on the Buddy Reads thread. Two books and a novella in 4 months that's a lot of BDB.

222868 I think that the woman who is in charge of Sanctuary is the one who got the book out. Who else is there? Why was the Vault place open when Jane was there? Where was she when Jane and V were there? Why does the book seem to have a female aura about it? Throe calls it "she". She may have come in contact with it and it drew her to it in a moment of weakness perhaps. Maybe when she didn't take over for the Scribe Virgin? They kind of glossed over that, and in the BDB, nothing gets a slight mention unless it is important.
