I can well imagine it would!!

I have always been both a collector and reader. I love the sight of filled bookcases but the different modes of reading that have recently been developed haven’t just passed me by. I prefer traditional books but my love for reading wouldn’t eliminate other options. If I could acquire a series in different formats, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them.

I am currently at 196 of 200 (98%).

Linda, it is a shame we live so far apart as I would jump at the chance to buy your Perry Mason series. I have read a few (but nowhere near all) of these books but would love to have and read them all.

If a picture is worth a 1000 words than the picture of a library must be good for millions.

Yes, it is far wiser to set an attainable goal than an impossible one. Reading should always be a pleasure and never a chore. I recently increased my goal from 175 to 200. I have now read 181 and hope to attain my new goal.

Read them, tend them and love them…. What you have is a treasure that millions would love to see and touch; much less possess.

Nope. I am open to everything. I don’t judge a book by its cover and give most authors the benefit of the doubt. Re-reads is another question……I have occasionally read the end of a book and the word “crap” passes through my thoughts along with a mental footnote that I will never re-read that book again.

What is specifically significant about Carrie over other King novels? I would rate no small few over this particular novel.

I get wallpaper swatches, fold them in half and either glue or sew them closed. This makes not only decorative bookmarks but they are also very cheap and easy to make.

I am now at 166 of 175. That is 66 books ahead but now that the Olympics have started, my tempo will slow down dramatically.

I have at least four copies (one is audio)of Catch 22 by Joseph Heller and have them all over my house. I have just two Bibles and two (one paperback and one hardbound) copies of The Kent Family Chronicles by John Jakes.

Hi Carrie,
I’m sure you will soon feel right at home here! We have addicts of all shapes and sizes, ages and gender. Some will tickle your fancy and others will seem like a reflection of yourself. We are all different yet we all have at least one thing in common; we all love books and the written word. Welcome! Welcome to the world of the bibliophile.

I have now completed 158 of 175. That is 90% or 66 books (38%) ahead of schedule. According to Goodreads I have read 47882 pages but I haven't counted them to confirm this. I will probably increase my goal in the next few weeks.

I have no need to hide books from my partner. She understands (and even more importantly puts up with me and my book collecting addiction) and supports me. She enjoys reading but I wouldn’t classify her as an addicted reader.
