207975 A supernova is the phenomenon which occurs when a star dies out. When a star dies, it gives out immense amount of energy in form of rays, generally know as gamma ray and their bursting is called gamma ray burst. When a star takes birth, it has some mass, and from Einsteins equation we know that mass is converted into energy, hence the life period... the star uses its mass. But the star also has its standard units of energy below which it cant exists, now when the mass of stars decreases and so the energy, it starts to accelerate the process of energy formation....., due to which their is uncontrollable reactions of fission and fusion in the helium atoms present in the star, due to this a explosion takes place... this explosion is called as supernova. For a start to go Super nova , it has to have minimum mass of about 8 times the mass of the Sun.

A Hypernova is process which starts after the occurring of the supernova. When the limit of the supernova exceeds and it starts releasing great amount of gamma rays, it marks the onset of the hypernova..... or we can say that the hypernova are the second stage of supernova.Basically For a start to go Hypernova ,it should be atleast 30 times the mass o the sun
This Hypernova marks the event where stars collapses to a form a black hole emitting energy Jets

Hypernovas are said to be the source of High energy Gamma Rays and are also called Collapsar.

207975 Hi everyone , i completed reading this book and it has been great , especially reading along with all of you guys , that was twice the fun.....i loved the way How Mr.Hawking gives a Brief History of Galileo , Sir Newton and Albert Einstein , leaves us with full of enthusiasm and inspiration in the end ........What about you all ?
Feb 14, 2018 10:07PM

207975 Wow , Thats Amazing Mr.Vivek and vert Fascinating too , I did not know about MIRA Start System to be frank , Noow .. I'll try to look up to it ...Thank you

207975 Guys ..i think , we are doing a very nice job .. We are reading it at an amazing rate and understanding it too ......

That's great ...i had never heard of that
But my friend Vivek , i think you may be one of those "vast majority just left it partially read on their bookshelves" because i dont see it in your READ shelves ...i assume you haven't read it yet

207975 Thank you Arko .....
Feb 10, 2018 12:42AM

207975 And Arko , I just saw your post 2 hours back and i immediately posed the question to a professor i knew .....If spin and color are were dependent on each other ....and he said NO , But he couldnt justify it ......... But he was very sure about it

207975 The Particle Hunters

This is a great book for particle physics too ......
Feb 05, 2018 07:01AM

207975 the basic idea is , Electrons give out light when it jumps from high energy level to low energy levels , Energy levels are , you can say different orbits , if electron jumps from higher orbit to lower orbit , it gives out a photon which is you can say a light particle of a certain wavelength , the electron which jumps from higher energy emits a light of shorter wavelength , keeping this idea in mind , now every element has its own number of energy levels and electron , and we now exactly know which elements gives out what spectra , when we create a spectrograph of a star we can compare it with out earthly analysis , we will know the composition of the star ........

207975 In the second chapter , Mr Hawking Speaks a little about Poincare , If you know about the Great Millennium Problems , Poincare Conjecture is one among the 7 Millennium Problems .............Millennium problems are 7 Great and meaningful Mathematical problems Solving even one of those you would me awarded the Fields medals .....only one of those 7 problems are solved and that is Poincare Conjecture....other six are unsolved . This Conjecture was solved by Grigori Perelmen ....quite recently

207975 Hi guys , how is the reading going on ?
Feb 04, 2018 12:17AM

207975 mine hasnt got that update
Feb 03, 2018 10:47PM

207975 Ya but i needs a major update now , because it says Gravitational waves have not been discovered , but it was discovered in the end of 2016
Feb 03, 2018 12:12PM

207975 Well .......i am just thinking of how many books you could have read in these thirty years following The Brief history of time , i am sure it's a lot of books ,you re a perfect guide for us young readers Mr.Bill , we are very glad to have you in the group , you could guide us in the right direction regarding books......
Feb 03, 2018 10:59AM

207975 Thanks.... So we need we will all discuss about the first chapter by tomorrow?
Feb 03, 2018 10:56AM

207975 hahaha ....i am not used to being called moderator friend , you can call me Alok .......I am just one of you 57 people hoping for some knowledge and thanks for the compliment
Feb 03, 2018 10:49AM

207975 It's just like a miracle , everyone is popping up slowly..and i am happy about it , Good going guys ......
207975 And if you into Rockets and space travel(like i am) , you can try KERBAL SPACE PROGRAM , its basically like a game , You can build your own Rocket (it is not as easy as it sounds) and launch it , Build your own Space station , explore and land on other planets and many things more .....

207975 I actually read about 90 pages last month , but for the sake of Group reading , i have restarted .......right now i am near newton Theory of Gravity part
