It's hard to comprehend that little amount of ammo could lead to many aircraft being shot down in one mission. Aces really must have worked hard to get their kills!

You have to wonder what the morale was really like for the Luftwaffe crews going into battle over the Channel then!

MR9, he was indeed, considered the saviour of the country! Although Australian servicemen fighting in New Guinea didn't see him that way.

Very interesting post MR9. It's hard to appreciate MacArthur when you read accounts like that!
