Without exception, I've enjoyed every book I read in high school more upon re-reading it years later. As you said, it's nice to just enjoy the story rather than have to analyze every facet!
Lianne wrote: "Wow, did you ever surpass your goal. You'll be hitting 100 in no time!"Yes, it's been an unusual year - I've never even come CLOSE to 100 books before! Now my goal for this year is 36,500 pages. Next year, I'll probably be back to my usual 50-60 books.
#90-GileadOutside my normal genre, but some nice writing.
#91-Dragonfly in Amber
I'm not loving this series, but will probably continue reading it because I like the history and want to see what happens to the characters.
#92-Green Angel
Quick YA read. I'm not sure Alice Hoffman is my cup of tea - I'll have to read more by her to decide.
#93-Out of Africa
I loved reading about Africa, but wasn't wild about Dineson's writing style throughout the book. It's also hard to get a sense of who she really was. I'm starting a bio of her now because I'm curious about her.
Ah, yes - my book-addict brain plays all those same tricks on me. At least we have this "support group" so we know we're not alone!
I'll be joining both of you next year in trying to read more from my shelves. I need to stay away from those darned library used-book sales for awhile so the shelves don't keep growing at a ridiculous rate!
I had to laugh at your comment that the 645 on your TBR list includes only what you own! I haven't counted them, but I'm sure I own at least a few hundred unread books that I have not yet even put on my TBR list - and that list stands at over 300. Sigh...what can we do?! It's an addiction!

Hi Leshawn,
That's too bad you missed "Hedgehog". It hasn't been released on DVD in the U.S yet - someone on Amazon is selling a copy for $70, but I think I'll wait a bit! Looks like you're going to surpass your 50 total books goal with no problem. I've gone way over my original goal this year, but it's been an unusual year. Next year, I'll probably go back to a goal of 50 - have too many projects I've been neglecting because of my reading obsession!
#85-Here Comes TroubleLoved this book, even though I don't always agree with Michael Moore.
#86-Unaccustomed Earth
Very good book of short stories. Lahiri writes beautifully.
#87-U is for Undertow
One of the best Kinsey Milhone mysteries so far (and I've read all 21!)
#88-The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
Wonderful book that puts you into the mind of a young man with Asperger's Syndrome.
#89-The Hidden Staircase
So much fun to revisit books I loved as a child!
Wow-so many books in a row that I've really liked.
That's unusual for me!
Are you counting your books on CD separately from your other books? If so, you've almost reached your 50 books! Way to go!BTW, did the film of Elegance of the Hedgehog come to your town yet?

Thanks, Tiffany!
#84-Infinite JestBrilliant writing. Could someone tell me how I put a link to my review here? I know - I need to learn basic html one of these days.
My review.
#81-The AssociateNope
#82-Persuasion
Not my favorite Austen, but still 4 stars for her writing.
#83-The Light of Day
Good writing and overall a good read, though I got a little bored towards the end.
Zee wrote: "I'm doing ok, will probably make it to 50. I'm at 42 right now. Looking back at this point I am happy that I've mostly chosen some really good books this year. Never knew 'Cellist of Sarajevo' woul..."I loved 'The Cellist of Sarajevo' - gave it 5 stars, which is rare for me.
#77-The Lonely PolygamistGood, but it was hard to feel too much sympathy for the characters, as they brought on a lot of their own misery.
#78-Shakespeare's Champion
Liked this, but wished the ending had been a little less dramatic and predictable.
#79-The Tiger's Wife
Couldn't really "get my teeth" into this one. It seemed to wander around too much, and I didn't appreciate the magical realism.
#80- Grave Sight
Harper Connelly is probably my least favorite Charlaine Harris character, but I like the way Harris writes.
I've had a lot of extra time to read this year. Next year, I'll probably be back to my usual 50-60.
45 is great, Morgan! If it were any other year, I wouldn't have read 45 before October - I just happen to have had lots of time to read this year.
