Angel wrote: "Hi, Theo! Loved the story. The characters really come alive. The descriptions were on point. You did amazing with this! Voted."Thanks, Angel. There really were problems on the long-distance telegraph lines in the mid-1800s with aurora. Even today, the electrical grids in Canada and the northern tier of US states experience huge induced electrical currents associated with geomagnetic storms (which, of course, also produce aurora).

Only one piece of Flash Fiction from me this week...you can see it here. It's about a railroad telegrapher in Portland, ME, who was operating during a strong aurora in the mid-1800s.
Thanks for your vote.

Thanks!
Just to let you know, I today received the Certificate of Registration for this children's illustrated storybook. The original application to the US Copyright Office was made on January 6, 2017, so, it looks like the current processing time is about 5.5 months.

I used to tease my younger brother and sister, claiming our mother loved me more...to which she would reprimand me by stating she had loved me longer. Still, even to her dying day, I could get her to laugh by making the assertion. (She lived to be 93.)

Thanks, Julie. That's so nice of you to say.
Erica wrote: "Great interview Ted!"Thanks, Erica. It took about four hours to answer the question, which, I thought, were quite good. Still, I don't like choosing my "favorite" book(s). It's like saying which child I loved the most.
Carole wrote: "Lovely- shared. What an interesting person, you are, Ted!!!"Shucks! (;>)
BTW, I have no idea how they got to me. There is the possibility, however, that my weekly participation and Wins in the Indies Unlimited Flash Fiction competitions may have caught someone's attention.
Have a great day. Stay cool! Going to 95F here today.
