Thanks Nat I'll take a look.

No but everyone here is nice and welcoming and I'd prefer a banana if you don't mind. And everywhere else is new and terrifying and unknown. I have posted in relevant threads usually headed with words like "authors introduce yourself here" and "new member introductions" so I've done those. And I've even had conversations on the active one today. I'm waiting for people to find out I'm a fraud. But I'm not sure what I'm supposed to have done fraudulently. Shudder.

Thanks Sam, appreciate it.
Right I am a member of two M/M romance groups I can't really post in yet because both my books have women in them. Also, three erotica groups, two aren't highly active. The other terrifies the bejesus out of me for reasons unknown, but I have infiltrated and attempted to sound like I know what I'm doing. I have yet to be kicked out.
I feel like I should down a stiff drink.

50k? Insert impressed emoticon here.

Here's another one time to completion unknown. Finish reading Alex's An Eye For an Eye which is a really good book I'm almost half way through but read at the rate of a sedated sloth.

Will do.

Thanks Erica.

I have joined another group. I have interacted with these human types that inhabit these groups. It was not an easy or a natural thing to do, but I did it. I would now like to sit in the corner and talk to my pet rock...

Yes this is absolutely true, with pricing we can just change it as and when we want, which is a huge benefit.

Well done Alex. Superb. See, I have this theory-people see a book that is a, call it a level of price expected from trad publishing, and they may see the book as "valid" if it's not priced the same as all the other free/99p books. A percentage of which (obviously not all) will be poorly written by people who cannot write. Please note I am not saying that anyone who has a book that is free or 99p cannot write. I am saying that a percentage might be perceived that way. That make sense?

Lol, looking at beta reading services online. Currently looking at Fiverr where my last cover came from-"I will beta read your novel out loud and send you the recording." That would terrify me. I read everything I write out loud anyway, in case I find sentences that are too long or can't easily be read. Having someone else do it, at this stage would make me cringe with self doubt.

Well to be honest I'd take out the word "that", otherwise I like it.
Others are better at blurbs than me and may have more useful suggestions.

Thanks for those Skye.

Yay! Gay erotica is lovely. Let me know when you're starting it, if you need a cheer..."Thanks Nat. I'd say the book I've just finished is more gay erotica than anything else. There's a couple of MF scenes and at least, hang on. One voyeur/ménage/MM, two MF and two MM. think that's it.
My goal for this week was to find interesting parties to beta read it. I have looked and the active erotica groups are few and far between. And even fewer for the mixture I have created. I tried to post in one but I removed the post because I've added women and that group was active, but I'm under the impression that MM plus female action would be unwanted.
And if I ask my friends to beta read it-there goes my book sales lol.
I may just wing it again, buy a cover and publish.

I do my finances every week. It's really not good reading. It's an exercise in how big the minus numbers are. Ugh.

I need something sweet at some point in the day. I suppose a 40 calorie hot chocolate is the lesser of many evils.

That's a bit of progress then. That's good. Hope the appointments don't take too long to come through.

It'll have to be a hot chocolate I ate the other stuff yesterday. Alcohol is a very good idea though.

Thanks Alex. I've done enough new stuff for today. How's your mum?
