I read something with very short sentences years ago that read like a synopsis, or worse, shopping list. It had no guts to it. Currently on the two books I’m writing simultaneously ProWritingAid is telling me my sentences are too short at an average of 9.7 words (should be 11-18). I’ll be sure to make an issue of that when I come back as a robot! All these things are guidelines.

At the time I was trying to be picked up by trad publishing. I had no intention of being an Indie so I heeded their advice. The first page of Picture of Dorian Gray on Kindle is all one sentence. (Not that I’ve read it.) It made me realise that it doesn’t matter what someone writes, if their face doesn’t fit they don’t stand a chance. The world is full of double standards and bright sparks who like to undermine people regardless of how well they write. I’ve been lucky to receive decent reviews bar one. But I know other people have suffered at the hands of the pedantic critics who like to pick away at the tiniest detail. I try to tick as many boxes as I can to hopefully avoid nitpicking.

Hi Justin. I love Halloween. We visited the haunted houses at a local farm on Tuesday. Lots of screaming (mainly with laughter).
OK, I have caught up and uploaded next week's episodes of Missing Remnants and Iridessian Haunts to Radish. They are, of course awesome lol.

It is. And I’ve caught up now. Just typing up and editing to do.

One of the downsides of writing on a weekly basis for the Radish app is that no sooner am I ahead, I'm behind. This week the kids are off school. We've done a couple of days out and I've also been working. Usually by this time I've got next week's episodes uploaded and ready for release and I'm working on the following week's.
Needless to say I've only just penned 2k of paranormal for next Wednesday and I've still got 2k of mystery to go for next Thursday.
The upside is I'll have two new books ready before Christmas at this rate. And to quote me "they're not crap."

Awww, thanks Alex. Shared.

I'd second Oliviaprodesign on Fiverr. She did my two erotic sci-fi novels (with non erotic covers.)

We do what we can when we can because it’s tough for everyone out there. You’re very welcome.

Are any of yours paperback- I don't remember if you did that."Sorry was looking on phone, didn't see this was mass distribution. Not sure it's worth going through that for the first two.

Can I do a Radish Fiction one for this or would it not work?

Pahahahaha. No chance of that.

The last episode of Nate and Day appeared on Radish Fiction five days ago. It's free in two days. Things on Radish have been so slow I've stopped looking. I've just seen someone jumped ahead and inadvertently spent 3 coins to read the last chapter. Yay :) I've got 36 coins now. That's a whole $1.52 apparently. (I won't spend it all at once :-)

I agree, I love it. Various editors a few years ago told me not to write long sentences. They never told me how many words to use! I think they were talking about comma splices. So if it was me, I'd use shorter sentences. But that is only my opinion.

Today I would like to complain about my wifi. I was using that. At best, I'd call it intermittent. (Hits the post button before it all goes tits up again.)

Finally I got enough internet to vote! My wifi is rubbish today.

That’s really good. I hope there isn’t too much mess to clear up.
