Just seen your advert on the Kindle Users Forum, Alex. It looks good.
Anyone who wants a place to advertise in the UK might like to take a look.

It's only useful for pre orders though, I think. People can just download a sample after the book is out of course"Good idea! If only I can get myself to remember all these wonderful tips. I have sticky notes all over the place and the right one usually surfaces
after I've done something.

Hi Mit - that's some profile you've written! Lots to use for your writing. All the best in your new career(s).

Some good tips but I do wonder about this cutting everything down to how a business article should read, i.e. short and to the point. Thrillers need to be fast paced but not all genres.
Just sayin'.

Thanks, Theodore. I've been hoping Amazon is totally secure. Poor Amazon and poor hacked account people.

Hello to fellow Brit Dominic and also to Prakash, Raul and Isaac. I'm sure you'll find everyone very friendly and helpful and we'll welcome your help too!

Thanks, Raul, there's one there that is new to me and I'll follow your other link later.
Hope your promo goes well.

Good idea."Also - most importantly - the price you paid for the ad.

Wouldn't that be great!

May I ask for people to put the genres of their books as I think that will be helpful and we can contrast one genre with another on the same site.

Yay! Promotion works. That makes it all worthwhile, I expect.
L.E. wrote: "Hmm On another forum someone stated that using author names as keywords was suppose to be good. Obvious writers in the same genre.
I hadn't heard that before."That is a good idea for Amazon Ads (should you wish to donate to Amazon!) but I'm not sure how it would work in the genre section on your book's page.
I have two that are like Poldark and in the last year or two Poldark has become very popular because of the TV series. But how would my book look in the genre chart?
Fiction>Romance> Historical>Winston Graham
Yet, L.E, it can work wonders if you get on his Also Boughts - which I can't!!!!
Or am I missing something? Did they say more, L.E?

Thanks Alexis. Bit pricey though, by the looks of it. I wonder what results are like. Edit: I've just checked via Google/KBoards and someone is speaking very highly of it.
One for your list, Amy?

But you're not a Yorkshire lass, are you? It must be hard to write in a dialect.
I think you are allowed to put links to books in threads like these, although it might be best to check if there is a promo thread.

Which is your favourite?

Some advertising sites charge different rates for different genres. I know BookBub does. Anybody remember other sites which have differing rates?
I wish I'd made a note of them! I shall do from now on.
Marie Silk wrote: "Thanks for the warning, Anna. I've been getting emails about "book promotions" from places I definitely never subscribed to. I'll be more wary of clicking on links."Oh no, Marie, I didn't click on a link - not one that looked like one! I just put booksauthors656 into Google and up came some Russian and I clicked 'translate this' and that must have been the link! They are getting very sneaky.

Welcome all, you've found a good place.
