Woohoo! Hope you get some reviews out of it!

What does non US mean though? It won't be on the .com site?"
Their newsletter is segmented by country so only people in non-US countries will get the email about my deal. I'm going to discount everywhere though so hopefully there will be some spillover to the US market.

Also I started a beta reader facebook group and sent an email out to my mailing list looking for beta readers and it's flattering to see how excited people are to join.

And yeah, it is VERY common world-wide for women to be dismissed and for their physical symptoms to be blamed on psychological ones. My neighbour has dizzy spells that doctors keep telling her is anxiety. And she's like, "but I'm not anxious. It hits even when I'm happy and relaxed" but they don't believe her because the MRI turned up nothing.

I'm stoked because IndieReader posted my review from the Discovery Awards and while I knew it would be positive, since I won, I am blown away by WHAT the reviewer praised.
Most of my reviews praise my humor. Which is great, and I'm glad people find my book laugh-out-loud funny. But my book has a lot of heart, too.
You'd think that since my book was submitted in the humor category, this review, like most others, would focus on the humor too. But no.
"CHEMISTRY by C. L. Lynch begins as a humorous take on Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight, but quickly turns into a story of a bullied teenager learning to trust others. Stella Blunt is not an easy character to like, which is exactly why it’s so great to see her lowering her guard as she learns to trust – and eventually love-"

Guys. He saw through the swear words and the jokes and actually reviewed the heart of my book.
I'm so happy right now.

I also need to do it myself. I have a friend with a good voice who is a HUGE fan of my books and wants to narrate. She would do it for free but I plan to profit-split with her. But how to do the recording?

Angel - if you're in a rush I'll move you to the top because most of the other ones I've gotten back have been "when you can" type of submissions.

So, if you have a story idea that you're stuck on and you want someone to look it over for free and give help/suggestions, or if you have a manuscript that you'd like someone to read over for plot/pacing etc, and if you're willing to give me feedback at the end on whether my advice was useful and give me your opinion regarding how much you think it is worth, send me a message!
Just remember that I'm anti-trope, anti-stereotypes so if I find them in your work I will be (gently) pointing them out and making alternate suggestions :-p

I'd be happy to look it over :-) you can email it to author at CLLYNCH dot com
Jordan, I emailed you!

Hi folks,
I've decided to start up some developmental editing services. I'm good at looking at the bones of a story and seeing what will make it better. Specifically, I am very good at identifying tropes and over-used plot devices, as well as stereotypes, and making suggestions about how they could be improved.
I'm looking to build a portfolio of testimonials, so need some people to sample my services and give me feedback about what was helpful/what was not, and how much they think I should charge.
So, if you:
- Are stuck at a point in your book and aren't sure how to get past it/where to go next
- Have a manuscript that doesn't feel quite right and you aren't sure what to do about it
- Have a manuscript that you want to elevate and improve
- Are worried that your book is too much like other books in its genre, and you want it to stand out
Then let me know!
About me: I am university educated with a lifelong love of reading and writing. My first novel, Chemistry, recently won an IndieReader Discovery Award. I enjoy a wide variety of genres, since really what I love most is a good book of any kind, but my favourites are middle grade, YA, fantasy/paranormal, and women's lit. I enjoy a good romance but I don't have much patience for overdone gender stereotypes. I am pro LGBTQ, pro equality, anti-racism, anti-ableism. If your book has problems in these areas I will be sure to let you know (kindly! No judgment).
If you want in, let me know, and if you have questions, please ask them!
