Thank you so much for all of this information, Anita, I will be sending my Indie friends here to read! :)

Hopefully, this is the right place to ask this. I was wondering if anyone had any experience using the 'Book preview' option here on Goodreads? Do readers use it? Do authors find it helps readers gain more interest in their books than just the blurb?
I'm really curious and considering giving it a try so would appreciate any feedback!
Thanks,
A.C.

Coffee 24/7 for me or ice water. I write Erotic Romance and live in the Pacific NW, U.S.

This was a great experience and I'm so grateful to have been a part of it. Definitely looking forward to the next event! Thanks to everyone who hustled and worked hard to put this together - it didn't even look rushed, but highly organized and professional. We have a very talented group! :)

Avarice

Blurb
Devils Only.
It was a permanent note-to-self tattooed right above Kameo Kross's panties, because anything less was a disappointment. Had anyone cared to issue the warning: Be careful what you wish for, she might have thought twice before wording it like an actual invitation.
Kami doesn't fear pain, death or eternal damnation. She fears only submitting completely. A matter she usually has well in hand... until an unexpected detour into kink and a relentless bastard of a new boss decide to put all of her resistance–and chosen ink–to the trickiest of tests.

Both novellas are available for free through Kindle Unlimited, have Content/Trigger and cliffhanger warnings. 3rd and final book is due to release at the end of April.
*My apologies if we're only supposed to list one book*

I would also recommend Goddess Fish! They have a large variety of tour packages, and their blog hosts are just as hands on as they are. I got far more comments, likes, shares and followers using them than anyone else. Also, they don't seem to be genre specific like most promoters.
If you're writing any kind of romance genre, I also highly recommend Saints and Sinners Book Tours. They're very friendly, have a lot of tour host bloggers and their custom banners are great!

I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I just stumbled upon this site that has a whole list of multi-author giveaways for a large variety of genres, so I wanted to share it with you all.

Also, I'm trying to put one together myself for the "BDSM Erotica" genre. There has to be 20 participating authors for them to host the giveaway, so if you're interested or know anyone who might be, the link for the form is below.

Thank you & sorry if this is the wrong folder!

"not having to pay for editing, book cov..."
Thank you Carole, I love my covers - and one of them is a DIY. If you find out the answer to that last question, I want to know, too! ;)
In my experience, self-publishing is the better payoff. I sold more copies of my Indie books in 3 months than I sold in a year of my one published book and I'm sure that has to do with being able to keep their cover prices low and include them in sales. Also, I use Kindle Select, so they're all free for Kindle Unlimited members and get a lot more exposure than my published book that way. So, even though the prices are cheaper, I've made more money in a shorter amount of time, but I've also put out more money on them.
To me, the payoff is in gaining a much larger readership than monetary. Having the ability to get my name out there more frequently and my Indie books sell internationally, whereas my published book has only sold in the US so far. I'm also hoping my Indie books will help boost my future published books a little better, because more people know who I am now thanks to my self-publishing.

I noticed you are a hybrid. If you have a publisher, does he only take some of your books? Which do you like better? Can you share the pros and cons of traditional publis..."
Thanks, Carole! I'll try to answer your questions as succinctly as I can here...
I started out published through an e-pub, and had already signed contracts for a handful of series prior to trying my hand at self-publishing, so all the books to those series will have to go to my publisher - but, otherwise it's up to me which books I submit to them.
There are definite pros & cons. The largest pro is expense: not having to pay for editing, book covers and interior layout formatting. The cons are not having any control over the editing, book covers and interior formatting. I still have to pay for all of my own marketing and the worst, for me is Time & Price.
I signed my first contract in 2013 and my publisher has only released 1 book since. They are not due to release my next book until June of this year. That's a 4 year gap between publications. I also have no say over the cover price, which means I can never put my books up for sale, countdown deals or temporarily free - though I can give them away for free in promotional giveaways, like a rafflecopter.
I launched 3 self-published books in 2016 and though I've been fortunate to find extremely great resources for very low prices, it is rather expensive. Still, I like being able to work at my own pace, not publish a book until I feel it's ready (my publisher rushes through the editing process - another con) and by the same token, publish more frequently than once every 4 years.
I'm not saying all publishers are the same, I made the mistake of not researching my publisher before signing their contracts. I was just happy to get published. So, for any writers out there still looking to go the traditional route, I highly recommend thoroughly checking out a publisher before signing anything. Do they have any best selling authors? Do they market their authors? What kind of say or control will you maintain over your own work?
Those are some of the questions I wished I'd asked, but all and all I can't complain about having the experience from both sides. So, which do I like better? Definitely Indie! :)
Thank you for this opportunity to share my experience and for sharing my blog link!
Sincerely,
A.C.

Along with my links, I first wanted to list a specific page from my blog titled Indie Resources. It's full of resources, sites, professionals and tips that I really hope other Indies find helpful. :)

So happy to be invited to this group. I'm a hybrid author, both traditionally and self-published, so you'll find both on my pages. I write Erotic Romance in all its sub-genres.
